LC, do you know much about Jesus Montero? I hope he's ready soon cause I can't stand watching balls careen off Posada much longer.

I don't know about Montero dude. I don't think the Yankees have too much promise in him as catcher because of his build as catcher. I think they see him as more of a DH 1st baseman. And we're pretty set when it comes to that. I think the one who is probably gonna be catcher may be Romine. The Yankees almost traded Montero for Soria earlier this year. He's a great closer and would have been a great 8th inning guy. But, unfortunately I see Montero traded to a team who is in need of a first baseman or DH for a solid starter or a good bat or some need like that. Trust me I love Montero but seeing as how they were this close to trading him for Lee and again for Soria I see him traded at some point. If that's not the case though I look forward to seeing him in a Yankee Uniform.

All the reports I've read this year have said he's improved a lot as a catcher. If he's an average catcher he'd be a huge asset to the team with the bat he's supposed to bring. They've stuck with him as catcher so I think they'll give him a shot. He could probably use some more time at AAA to continue improving his defense next year but I think we'll see him in the majors. Could definitely see a catching tandem of Posada/Montero next year with Cervelli as the third guy. If they have Posada and Montero split time it gives Posada the rest he needs and eases Montero into the catching role. More than likely the other one could be the DH on days they aren't catching.
