I agree that Edsall did it in a very fucked up way, but it shouldn't be as shocking as it is. I just can't believe he is acting like Maryland is an elite level job. He better win because Friegden got screwed and the fanbase loves Friegden and will look to crucify Edsall initially.

ESPN announcers have been favoring Auburn a lot during their talking and not as much concerning Oregon.

No surprise though since their pre-game stuff leading to the game and the last few days involved mostly SEC people (Meyer, Saban, etc) with the occasional talk of if Oregon can stop Auburn.

I'll give credit to Oregon for playing their ass off.

Past few years the SEC Title game was competitive while the National Title Game was a blowout. This year it was the opposite. Auburn had to earn this one.

Baton Rouge - LSU football Coach Les Miles is staying at LSU, a source at the university said Tuesday.

Miles, the former Wolverines player and assistant coach, turned down an offer to become head coach at his alma mater after meeting with Michigan officials Monday night in Baton Rouge.

Miles has four years remaining on his contract which pays him $3.751 million.

Can't blame Miles for not wanting to leave since the SEC will be guaranteed a spot in the National title game and all he needs to do is manage to win the SEC title for a spot with at least 0-1 losses.

Much easier than to rebuild Michigan, who has to compete with both OSU and a lot of other teams/conferences for the other title spot.

Its more of a perception of them actually being guaranteed a spot since ESPN and others have a lot of influence in terms of hype and news even if the computers don't show the SEC deserving of the spot for a particular year. Although to be fair, ESPN does the same with the ACC in basketball even during "down" years with the hype.

Some people were even able to figure out that it was possible for LSU or Auburn to reach the title game even if they didn't win the SEC title (LSU) or had a bad loss in conference (Auburn pre-Bama game).

Even though the NCAA doesn't really control the BCS, they know that a lot of money and hype can be generated if an SEC team is in the title picture. To be fair, all the major bowls favor big name teams and conferences and don't like to give up a spot to a Big East team or ACC team even though they have to by the rules.

I guess Miami Offensive Coordinator Mark Whipple is in the final stages of being head coach for UConn.
