Just seemed to come out of left field. The Royals made a big deal about a contract extension they were going to announce, and everybody was predicting it'd be Alex Gordon or Eric Hosmer...instead it was Salvador Perez.

Also I had never even heard of Salvador Perez until now. That probably has something to do with it.
