Anyway though, good move in getting Felton. I still maintain that Lin is not worth the amount of money Houston is offering. They'll lose nothing with Felton at the point.

ESPN stating the reason the Knicks rejected matching Jeremy Lin's offer from the Rockets wasn't because of money but because of the petty reason of management still pissed at him being injured before the playoffs while blaming him for being selfish for not playing at 85% healthy.


Lakers making another strong push for Howard with Howard still wanting Brooklyn to make an offer and teasing a bit that he doesn't want to go to Houston. Magic still considering dropping the discussion if Bynum refuses to commit to a longer term deal should the trade be done.

Everything about Lin feels fraudulent to me. Most of his numbers were against terrible teams, or veteran teams that he was able to surprise because in a shortened season they probably aren't going to over exert themselves against the lowly Knicks. The second time he went up against Deron Williams he got embarrassed. The 85% claim is bullshit too. Miami exposed him and he knew if he played in that playoff game it would hurt his free agency because he would get eaten alive again.

Plus, dude turned down an opportunity to vie for a spot on Team USA. Again, I think it was due to him not wanting to get exposed playing with and against top tier talent. Superstars don't go undrafted, get cut by two teams and then only get playing time because they were the best of what was left. He's the NBA's version of Doug Flutie.

Seriously. The more things change the more they stay the same with the Knicks because Dolan always has and always will be an idiot.

Most people reporting on it have said money wasn't the issue. Dolan was just upset over Lin getting a bigger contract from the Rockets and wanted to take a stand. Nothing like letting emotion and personal feelings get in the way of bettering the basketball team. If money was ever a problem he wouldn't have been spending 100M on teams that missed the postseason the last decade.

Knicks will be okay without Lin but it still was stupid not to match. They've traded all their assets (all the 2nd round picks they could, young players, rights to Euro guys they had) this offseason to go all in for the next three years and got a lot older in the process. They had someone young with potential just leave for nothing when all it would have cost them was money.

Anyway, still excited about the team for this year because with or without Lin they are a better team than last year. Getting Lin still would have made this years team even better though.

I guess the rumor is the Cavs can help get the deal done with LA. They'd get Bynum and the Magic would get a bunch of draft picks.

Cavs might be pretty decent next year if that goes down. Lot of young talent.

Honestly, Dwight IS being a bitch. I'm tired of this. Even if the Lakers don't get him, I don't see it being a fail, Bynum is a way better offensive player than D12 is. Bynum is the 2nd best center in the league, if not the first. Fine with either option. Just want resolution to this stupid drama.

I thought it was hilarious when Carmelo called Lin's contract offer from The Rockets ridiculous.

I do think Lin is a total New York hype machine, and this won't really hurt the Knicks, but 8.1 for Jeremy Lin isn't that bad they probably should have kept him.

If the Lakers do in fact land Howard, I just don't think Miami would be able to beat them in a 7 game series unless they make some more roster moves.

In fact, it's possible that the Lakers' biggest threat is in the Western Conference, in OKC.

'Cause I don't see an Eastern team that'd be able stop them right now.
