There's a ton of great bio's on players to read. John Kordic's story is interesting as is Harold Ballard's. I'll post some Ballard stories sometime as they are ridiculous.
My favourite book is called "The Rebel League": the story os the old World Hockey Association. If you enjoy reading you HAVE to check it out. It has incredible stories as the Minnesota Fighting Saints were the inspiration for the movie Slap Shot. Olgie Ogolthorpe was an actual real person: Bill Goldthorpe. He used to play with numchucks in the dressing room before games. |

Very interesting to see how many solid NHL players are still without a job and will probably go to camps on tryouts
Who would have thought Brendan Morrow would not be on a team? Mason Raymond, Ian White etc.... The Ron Hainsey story is very interesting. Many think he's been blacklisted from the league due to his part in the NHLPA lockout. |

No way, it's actually happened? There was talk about this eventually happening to Hainsey while the lockout was in progress. Interesting. I feel bad for him, but if memory serves me right, he made some very foolish and stupid comments - however, I couldn't quote you anything from memory.

There's conflicting reports that he's asking for a ridiculous amount of money. 3.5 million, which if that's the case then Hainsey might have taken one too many hits to the head. He couldn't even get that in the KHL.

Amazing Video. Malkin delivering Season Tickets..
Best Part. Guy FaceTime's his girlfriend in Turkey and Geno tells everyone 'I love turkey' and starts telling her 'Come to Pittsburgh, what you do in Turkey?' |

Lol Malkin's video of him fighting with an 10 year in Russia was amazing. Must have made that kids day.
Looks like Kadri is going to sign a 2 year deal between 2.7-3.5 million a year, plus Mason Raymond signed a PTO. He'd fit nice on the third line. |

Flyers sign Dan Cleary to a 3 year deal with a no trade clause........
I full believe at this point Paul Holmgren is just signing random players and throwing them against a wall and hoping it sticks. Also Hal Gill is signed to a PTO with Philly. With the orange jersey he'll actually look like a pylon. |

This Alex Pietrangelo contract situation is going to be messy. The Blues have zero capspace and he wants a big raise.
Really feeling Phil Kessel might leave after the year Really wish more people would post in the hockey thread |

You know, I'm shocked at the amount of hype that team is getting. I've seen publications that have them in the playoffs. Their defence resembles the early 2000's Pens when Dick Tarnstrom led that team in points. Their defence is ATROCIOUS, and I'm about as sold on Varlemov as I am on Dubnyk, which I'm not. Tyson Barrie and Duncan Siemens are literally going to have to have All Rookie Team calibre seasons. Thei centers are top notch, but their wingers are bad. At least Bordeleau will get regular playing time and crush heads.
Lol I might have to come out of retirement and start writing articles again. |

I doubt Duncan Siemens will even start with the Avs which is odd. I think Dubnyk is pretty good(always shuts down the Avs, so I am biased) but I'm not sold at all on Varlamov. Did you see they're moving Ryan O'Reilly to wing? I found that odd, would've moved Stastny up with Duchene and Parenteau and had O'Reilly with Landeskog and Tanguay.

Lol just noticed Jan Hejda is getting 3.2 million dollars. Christ. People don't talk about Erik Johnson being a huge bust, but good lord.
More than likely this is your top 6 Erik Johnson-Jan Hejda Ryan Wilson-Tyson Barrie Matt Hunwick-Cory Sarich Andre Benoit I have zero idea what the Avs are up to, but they'd better not pull an Edmonton and keep drafting forwards. It never works, never has worked, nor ever will. Edmonton still won't make the playoffs this year. They finally drafted Daniel Nurse and IMO he's nothing more than a #4 defenceman. Skippord, any report on Joey Hishon? The Avs spent a high pick on him, but he's really fallen off the radar. |

There isn't that much to talk about yet. Except the Pietrangelos situation I suppose. I hear he wants to be the leagues highest paid DMan. Is that right?

Disappointed that Hodgson signed with the Sabres. I was hoping that he'd walk away from them when his contract was over and join the Leafs.
Is there some sort of unwritten "loyalty" code in the NHL? If I was a premier player in the NHL, I'd be trying to go where I wanted, not sticking with the team who drafted me, or staying with a team that I was traded to. I guess you could say that I'd pull a Lindros, except that I'd serve out the duration of my entry level contract with the team who drafted me first. |

Young players who pull that get major heat with the vets. It's just a crappy thing to do and it almost never works out for the player. Plus, being an RFA, it'd cost the team an arm and a leg to get you. Depth is so much more important today and putting all your eggs in one basket is a terrible way to run a team.

Well it took a week and it happened. The NHL put in this stupid ass rule where you can't remove your helmet before a fight which is retarded, so Krys Barch and Brad Gallant found a loophole. Lol told my friend his was going to happen sooner than later.

Raymond apparently has an offer on the table for $925,000 if he makes the team. If Raymond can put up 10-15 goals and 30-35 points, kill penalties, I would GLADLY take that.
