I'd say Mankind.

There wasn't really a point in his career when I think they "dropped the ball" with Mankind. Everything they did with him was pretty much the right time and place for that particular point in his career, from his beginning feud against the Undertaker, through the Attitude Era where he played the "underdog main eventer" role to perfection, to his "so close but so far" final run and then his few return matches against Evolution, Orton and Edge.
