Might be a liability to have transitional animation between forms. I suspect there's a reason transformations in Brawl always used some fancy Power Ranger type light effect to hide the replacing models. Bowser-Giga Bowser, Zelda-Sheik, Samus-Zero Suit, Sonic-Super Sonic, all transform with some effects in between. They never actually had transitional animations.

Not too mention something for an alternate attire would be a waste of dev time.
