Miz should get a shot at the US Title, now that he's beaten Sheamus, but before the match, he gets injured and Mizdow takes his place.

Mizdow wins, becomes US Champion and it causes friction between Miz and Mizdow, with both men claiming to be US Champion.

My idea is that Miz enacts a singles "freebird rule", where either he or Sandow can participate in a match interchangably. Damien does all the work while Miz gets his nails done or eats or takes selfies. The friction comes from when they lose the title. If Damien loses, Miz blames him. If Miz loses, Damien claims he's better, and Miz is HIS stunt double. Either way, there's the rift.
