The biggest letdown of the night is that outside of establishing Lesnar-Reigns they have planted zero seeds for other Mania matches. The Rumble historically setups a handful of storylines and we didn't even get that.
Aside from that, we've only got ourselves to blame. How many months has it been in the Dirtsheets that they see Reigns as the new Cena and they'll be pushing him to a Main Event spit against Lesnar? 4 months? 6? Yet we convinced ourselves that something else was gonna happen. Bryan came back and the story of him never losing the title and a David vs Goliath battle with Lesnar at Mania, and getting the Rumble win he should have got last year. Ziggler and the shine he got from his Survivor Series win. Rusev and the momentum he's gained. Ambrose and his getting over in the interim during Reigns' injury. Wyatt and his re-established push. Seth being added to the title match, the added dynamic of the briefcase, the potential of Orton getting involved with him. The potential of Undertaker getting involved with Lesnar. They delivered exactly what we should have expected. |
