QUESTION I have always wondered:

I wasn't really watching when Roman Reigns was part of "the Shield" and stuff...

When I started watching he was already his current incredibly boring "incarnation"...

Did he used to be like "really good" and "over"?

Like did he used to have good matches or something... I heard that he used to be "good" maybe... Seems like a really shitty "big guy" wrestler... just incredibly boring...

He was the big buiser / sweeper, so he was over because of that. Being in a team with Rollins and Ambrose let them cover some of his deficiencies, like promos and extended sequences. For the most part, he just had short HOUSE OF FIRE sequences.

He didn't say too much of anything and he was pretty much the clean up guy if you managed to get rid of Rollins and Ambrose he would be the guy exploding outta nowhere finally taking you down and he was good at it.

Good matches? Not really but then again he was more of the power spot or clearing house type guy on the team.

Was equally as over as the other guys in the group just because of how well the WWE booked the group. Lost a lot of momentum and good will earned once it became obvious Vince/Creative wanted him to just be a Cena 2.0 type character instead of what made him popular to begin with.
