And I'm glad NXT wasn't involved in the Slammy's for the same reason that I don't want any NXT matches at Wrestlemania.

NXT is the "developmental brand".

Yes, it is all part of the WWE product, and is the best thing WWE is doing right now. But the bottom line, is that it's the developmental brand. It's "the future" and all that bollocks. Nobody from NXT should be winning Slammy's or having feature matches at Wrestlemania if they're not up to the level of being on the flagship show/roster.

Any NXT involvement in WWE programming will disappoint people who like what NXT is.

I think I mentioned this in another thread, but I think what happens with NXT in 2016 will be the most interesting story of the year.

NXT to me right now is in a perfect spot. The show airs on WWE Network, which is a captive audience. Because you have that captive audience, you can book in a manner that appeals to hardcore fans. Some of the hardcore fanbase of WWE seems to be less interested in the main product than they once were, so NXT becomes this underground product. They can still tour in front of small audiences, without the pressure of playing 7-10K people every night. At the same time they can still do 8 or so shows per year piggybacking off major WWE events, that draw 10-15k people.

The issue will become how they look to grow NXT as a business unit. I think there will be a push to get NXT on cable in some form. Thats where things get scary because then you need to appeal to the wider audience and the booking likely changes.

Change how if the responses are any indication on the main show all people want and love to see is really good wrestling thats what NXT does can't see what they would need to change. Being more like RAW would just mean lame duck comedy and endless promos with 4 matches just kinda thrown in.
