I'm done searching for the needle in the haystack and will just wait to see if/when they ever show the name and artist of his theme, and if I'm wrong, so be it, egg on my face I guess.

Anyway, I thought it was a great show tonight. Would give it ✮✮✮✮/✮✮✮✮✮.
It might be. I mean, Samoa Joe's theme sounds suspiciously like Pharaohe Monch's "Simon Says" instrumental. Might be a decent amount of late 90's Hip Hop in the CFO$ catalog.

I'd kinda mark out for a decent "cover" of MOBB DEEP - "Hell On Earth", or just about anything from Fugees' "The Score" album (except maybe "Killing Me Softly"). And have Los Matadores come back sans bullfighter gimmick entering with something like "100%" or "Se Acabo" would be hype as hell, and I'm not even Puerto Rican.

Joe's TNA theme was a ripoff of the original Godzilla theme. Joe's ROH theme used the original Godzilla theme as the intro. Simon Says samples the original Godzilla theme. WWE/CFO$ used a similar horn/trumpet/brass instrument for Joe's theme. Nothing to do with 90's hip hop.

I know all that. But it does sound close, and I don't mean the intro. I mean in the same way Nunzio's Jim Johnson cooked up theme sounded an awful lot like "No Sleep Til Brooklyn", or how Tommy Dreamer's previous theme was *close enough* to "Man In The Box". It wasn't spot on, or note for note, but you could see what was being hinted at and it didn't sound like total generic ass.

Also, don't crush my dream of hearing better fucking themes... I mean, there seems to be a huge step-up in quality post Finn Balor (and to me, even that sounds like a nod to a particular U2 song that appeared in a particular movie soundtrack about a particular comic book character who particularly Batman... dammit!) There may just be some 90's Hip Hop inspired sounds somewhere. You never know.

So, as for AJ's theme, it sounds *close enough* to "Ain't No Sunshine", and whoever is rapping sounds like they're attempting some DMX karaoke imitation with their delivery. Basically, as close as you can get to a DMX song without editing out 800 instances of him saying nigga, or actually having to pay DMX what would essentially become bail money.
