Hmmm. Shitty production. Guys with average guy in the local gym type bodies. Old guys. Mullets. Small arenas that appear to have no risers. Jim Cornette. Blood. Small packages as finishes. Dark. Sweaty. Skinny mics. Cheap looking gear. Sound stages.

What about wife beaters, run down pickups, mangy dogs, and cousin lovin?

I'm very grateful to be a northerner. I was introduced to proper sports entertainment and never owned a mesh hat.

You do realize that the WWF were wrestling in high school gyms, Knights of Columbus's etc... during the 80's right? With lots of old wrestlers and shitty production.

I started going to wrestling in something like 85. It was always at Maple Leaf Gardens, which was a big arena. I also saw an event at the baseball field, which had north of 30k people. So maybe sine shows were still in barns, but not the big ones, and not the ones on TV.

From seeing what I think of as southern wrasslin on TV, it looked like it was done in a high school gym or a sound stage with 40 people on hand. If that's your TV, i'm guessing spot shows were in some dives. I dont doubt the odd show would take place in a minor league ballpark, but what was the gates for those shows?

The WWF used to hold shows at Mosques and their T.V tapings were notorious for looking like shit until late 1986 . I have them all saved in my computer

Great. Then Hulk Hogan and Vince took the thing into large arenas and never looked back. Let's not pretend like Bruno didn't fill MSG on a regular basis. NY has always been the big time.

I try to seperate pre-Hogan and Hogan as a champ. Tough to compare the two, but yes MSG was it.
