Sarcastic CyNoid Mode: But now the casual fan knows that Nakamura can beat Cena and Orton. That Jinder Mahal can beat Nakamura just means that Mahal > Nakamura > Orton/Cena. It's great storytelling, and no amount of losses will ever be able to take away from what Nakamura has already achieved in the WWE.

In fact, they could probably have Nakamura lose to more people and make lots of stars. They can always just rebuild Nakamura by saying "He's beaten both John Cena and Randy Orton." That means more than the WWE Title ever could.

Not sure what's wrong about that. You build a challenger up no matter the blow off. Should champions only beat opponents that lack credibility?
