Nobody shows more that NXT doesn't mean shit than Elias. He was nothing in NXT, but Vince liked what he saw, and look at the dude now.

Literally working himself into a program with The Rock.

Has 2 different Network docs, and an mp3 album.

Meanwhile NXT darlings like Apollo Crews, Tyler Brees, The Revival, ect. Haven't even sniffed a quarter of the success Elias has in WWE

I think Apollo Crews got a lot of Praise from Executives I don't think he was in NXT long enough to establish himself as an NXT darling the way Breeze and the Revival were

Blame Vince and/or Creative for being absolutely terrible at bridging stars from NXT to main roster. Triple H saw the problem years ago but main Creative still hasn't followed his advice of only calling up people when you have some concrete plans for them.

I know I can't speak for the guy but there's a big part of me that believes Triple H can't stand the fact that Vince changes things on the Fly Triple H comes across as somebody who likes to have plans in place and stick to them
