And like honestly, John Oliver has been trying to "pwn" Trump for the entire duration of his HBO show just like he "ethered" the WWE (ie. gave them attention and made them seem like an even bigger entity than they are).

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the comedy and am a fan of Oliver on that front, but it has the reverse effect of what I assume is intended. He's preaching to his own choir and galvanizing those on the other side. Nobody watching John Oliver is going to have their mind changed by John Oliver because they already feel the same way he does.

That is the left's delusion, it's how Trump got elected.

They act like they are better than everybody, and the people that don't agree with their point of view are idiots.

If he just said "I don't think they should go" that would be fine, but that's not good enough for preaching leftist elites. He has to insult the industry, fans, and wrestlers.

As a wrestling fan, I'm sitting here thinking "good, I'm glad they are going, hope it makes John Oliver pout more."

It's not their point of view, it's HOW they argue everypoint. They get loud and throw out insults. It's a child having a tantrum, and there are plenty of people out there who hear that and it makes up their mind the other way.

Saudi Arabia is a repressive place that does horrible things, but if it makes people like John Oliver that upset, then there is the silver lining to me.

That's not why Trump got elected. It certainly didn't help but it's largely an overarching narrative that is given far too much weight. From my novice understanding, people tend to turn to populist, brutish candidates during times of economic distress.

While "The Left" fails in their inability to understand and communicate with blue collar folk (such as simple fan for instance), there could have been a chance with Bernie Sanders. But with Hilary Clinton, you had a smug, charisma vacuum who was such a bad candidate she didn't even do rallies during her campaign.

"The Left" has always been holier than thou thinly veiled racists (like Noid) who can't deal with their own white guilt and yet they've held power plenty of times. There's many more factors that got Donald Trump elected beyond the likes of Jon Oliver and virtue signallers on Twitter.

Problem is like you said, they picked a very unlikable untrustworthy woman because they just assumed they would win. It shows how full of their delusions they were by how shocked they were when Trump won.

Even if I agree with a lot of the Democratic party points of view, I could never call myself a liberal because I just can't argue points the way liberals do. They take everything way too far.

Pit barrel made a post in the other subforum, sarcastically I assume, about banning all white privilege and that completely illustrates the point. Being upset at people for not being tolerant of everybody, so let's get rid of them because I don't want to tolerate them.

Just say if somebody is being racist they should be banned. Don't make it about them being "white privileged" cause that is disliking them based on their race.

That just doesn't make the argument in any kind of logical way, and sadly many liberals spew just as much hate as any other racist.

We're in the same boat but I also can't stand far right snowflakes either because they hold liberals to some ridiculous standard. "I'm allowed to be an asshole, but if this liberal left leaning person displays anything off base, they are garbage".

Agreed, anybody that isn't open to debate falls right into the same category. The far right is less whiny, but they are also less compassionate.
