The belts in wwe don't mean jack shit. That's what he's taking a shot at. And he's right.

The AEW belt is gorgeous. Big and gold. My favorite.

He didn't say WWE's belts though, he said wrestling belts.

It's called hypocrisy.

Belts don't mean anything, oh but this brand new one does.

It's the same problem I have with HHH saying something like "Guardians of the Indies" but then signing a bunch of Indy guys.

Hypocrisy is Hypocrisy regardless of which brand said guy works for.

Had JR not said that shit, I wouldn't have thought of it during the AEW title reveal.

Ha, this popped me. But seriously, it will be Rollins/Reigns vs. Lashley/Corbin. Get real.

You could tell. Genuine emotion came out of both men.

Not a Game of Thrones fan, I thought the throne-breaking was awesome. They are living off being the other right now. Cody’s gimmick is that he is the EVP from a royal wrestling family. AEW is different. That was the point. And it worked in front of that crowd. When you see Triple H take four minutes to get to the ring at Super Showdown or Mania next year, you can remember that moment as a relevant critique of why we need new in wrestling.

A great character and performer could have told some amazing stories and, like so many others, a massive portion of his career has been wasted doing nothing important every week.
I hear the point, and it would have been nice if wrestling was wrestling over the past twenty years or whatever. But Dustin had a lot pent up. Having something to prove probably pushed him a little bit.

Lol, you’re working a bit hard to bury this thing. JR was talking about the way WWE treats their belts. Maybe he was even thinking about how New Japan has too many? But he wasn’t saying that AEW’s are immediately going to be shit.

What thing? I am burying Jim Ross a little, based on what he said. Nothing more.

Of course AEW needs it's own champions. I'm hoping they come up with something innovative for a secondary title like when the X Division first came around.

Once again, Jim Ross said wrestling titles have never meant less. I didn't say that, Jim Ross said that. But an additional AEW championship added to the landscape of profession wrestling is ok to him in his narrative that title belts have no value.

Hypocrisy

Bro. Come on. He worked for NJPW. He knows the IWGP and Intercontinental titles are treated with a great deal of respect. He was clearly referring to the WWE. Read between the lines.

Like, even STD has calmed down with the try hard AEW hate. You’re worse than STD right now.

If someone doesn't know what STD stands for here it's a hilarious insult.

"Did he just call me a sexually transmitted disease?"

So who's gonna come up with "that would be less of an insult?"

Are you joking??? What AEW hate is in ANY of these posts.

The only thing I hate about AEW is how you can't say anything negative about anything or anybody that has any association with that company without a bunch of backlash that I am "just an AEW hater" and blah blah.

If I hated them so much why the fuck would I support them with $50 for a PPV.

If I said the SAME EXACT thing about Corey Graves, I wouldn't get any replies.

In fact, feel free to search my posts, I've said worse things about Corey than he is a hypocrite, without a bunch of "oh you just hate WWE" bullshit.

So what exactly is the difference other than who they work for?

Because a bitter old man opened his mouth about his former employer, and yes we all know he is talking about WWE, but he didn't have the balls to say WWE, don't want to burn that bridge in case of a future potential payday, instead he made a generalized statement about all of pro wrestling. All of pro wrestling would then would include AEW. Since he made it about all of pro wrestling, then he is a hypocrite for acting like this one new title matters.

It's exactly why actual fans don't want AEW or any of their people going out of the way to bring up any other wrestling company.

It's the same way ill think it will suck if Moxley comes out and cuts the same promo about WWE evil, WWE held me down, etc that every former WWE guys cut as soon as they got to Impact.

If this time is supposed to be different, don't have your announcers out there bringing up WWE because they have an axe to grind. Just be AEW.

They have the pieces, they have the talent, they can succeed without ever acknowledging WWE even exists. And it's exactly what they should do.

There’s a difference between genuine critique and hating on something out of spite. Your posts in this thread come off like the latter. Since you paid for the event and everything I’ll assume it’s unintentional, but your tone is why you’re getting so much pushback. Plenty of people have criticized AEW for different reasons.

And on Jim Ross, if you want to nail him to the cross just for not being specific then go ahead I guess but no one else gives a fuck.
