No clue what any of this stuff is to do with. What’s it got to do with Colt Cabana? He’s not been on AEW in months? What’s the issue with Hangman? He seems like a nice guy.

Punk doesn’t like Colt Cabana anymore. When Colt’s AEW contract didn’t get renewed because he doesn’t do anything there, the people backstage in AEW believed Punk had something to do with it (Punk denies this). Hangman Page brought it up in a cryptic promo prior to their Double or Nothing match to pop his boys in the back, which Punk didn’t appreciate being blind-sided with because it is unprofessional and stupid.

The camps in AEW are becoming more divided. There’s a CM Punk camp, which believes in watching Bret Hart tapes for inspiration and working your matches to make sense, then there’s the Elite camp which believes it should be a graceful dance and they do it better than anyone and psychology is out of touch. Punk’s side is annoyed because the Elite side limits your appeal and prevents them from drawing big, and The Elite are mad because it’s supposed to be their promotion and it threatens them that the basic principles of pro-wrestling hold up.

Colt Cabana sued Punk a long time ago and made like a half a million or more off him, it ruined their friendship. It was to do with the Cabana podcast where Punk dropped all the details on how WWE was bad.

Cabana is well liked among the EVP's and the whole ROH clique that the Elite run in so he was a natural fit for AEW. Cabana wasn't really used much since Punk was hired so some of Colt's friends probably had secret heat with Punk about it, I suppose Hangman being one of those friends.

The heat between Hangman and Punk came out during their feud when Hangman said something that upset Punk in a promo. Punk retaliated by shooting on Hangman during a promo well after the program was finished, and confused people.

It seems to please Colt's friends, Colt's job was moved to "ROH", and Tony saves face.
