If you're gonns turn Orton, you may as well give him a win. What makes a person more cocky: Beating a legend or losing to one?

Yeah I like your idea.

I would do basically the same thing.

The other thing I would do is on RAW after Mania, have Orton skip the show. He could cut a promo "via satellite" and say "The Legend Killer is back" (I like that), but he couldn't make it to RAW. Of course he's not there because he's scared of Taker (who would be there for the draft). Orton would figure by not showing up for RAW he wont have to face him. Orton would get whats coming to him though, because he would get drafted to SD. That would allow his program with Taker to continue on SD.

If they have him lose they are drunk.

I agree, let's say Orton beats Taker at Mania; but not cleanly. Maybe Orton puts his feet on the ropes or something, so his feud with Taker can continue if Orton goes to SD. On TV, Taker should get the upper hand for a while. Orton should only be able to pull off a beat down once and a while. Then let's say at the next SD PPV Orton beats Taker cleanly, then spits in the face of Taker.

If you're going to botch another angle, what difference does it make?

The answer is obvious to us, but not to the WWE.

Look at Jericho/Michaels. Chris would have benefited from that victory GREATLY, but instead, he loses clean. Of course, he low blowed Shawn after the match, so in the end he got over more... right?

I can see something like that happened at Mania 21, just cause Vince and company don't know what the fuck they're doing.
