Some are siggesting this was an amicable and mutual split for now. Matt needs time to get his life in order, and that might be difficult working in the same company as those who have betrayed him etc. Take some time off, work elsewhere if need be, and then when you feel like you can come back, and work professionally at the same time, they'll re-sign you.

Perhaps this is the case, but if not, my point above still stands, and I think it's shameful that you get rid of talents, while keeping non-talents, and plenty of it.
