Got wrestling school tonight.

I started last Saturday. Got it Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. It's more slow on the weekends so there's less people, like a couple of students and the rest are wrestlers that wrestle for the organization CW (Chaotic Wrestling; www.chaoticwrestling.com) that are just training there.

Just observed those two days, looks cool. Looks like they first teach you how to run against the ropes, exit the ring by going through the middle rope, top rope, top rope backwards (Like if someone clotheslines you over), do a baseball slide out, and then learn to fall. When I was there on Saturday I was talking to Killer Kowalski, he's always there, he told me about the school and how he likes to give the students/wrestlers advice on how to do better. When you leave, this is what the guy told me, you have to shake everyones hand to act professionally. That kind of sucks cause I just like to leave without making a sound and I don't like being a PITA, but I did and everyone was pretty nice. They are nice people and they live in Boston. Boston, Mass, don't really like living here, blah blah blah blah. Oh yeah, on Sunday I met this guy named Chris, his in ring name is Craig Straton, he looks like Chris Nowinski.

So I think I get into the ring tonight. Thats what the head trainer said on Sunday.

Yeah that shaking hands thing is weird, but I swear everyone and i mean EVERYONE does it, very strange. Especailly when you see guys who don't know anyone who come into a show and start shaking punters hands cos they don't know who's who

Wow, so does that mean you'll be training with Killer Kowowlski? That sounds pretty awesome! And the school sounds pretty good based on the brief description. The fundamentals are there anyway, altho I'd figure you teach falling before exiting over the top rope backwards... unless it's just getting over the rope and not actually hitting the ground.

Just think... in five years, we'll be bitching about this Pork Soda wrestler holding people down.

Rep if you get why I made that joke.

Killer Kowalski has had a hand in a lot of recognisable wrestlers training hasn't he? I mean except for Triple H there's Chyna, Saturn, Kazarian, A-Train, Nowinsky to name a few.

Good luck with it all

Not really. Kowalski is there because, well, he's there. He gives advice from what I see. He's a pretty old guy so I don't think he'll get in the ring and start bumping around. I'll ask him what he does next time I see him, which might be tonight.

I finally actually got into the ring last night. Listen, if anyone wants to be a wrestler, they need to be a mobile person and love to act and perform in front of dozens of people. Me, I'm more of a spectator and just like to watch.

First thing, the guy tought how to circle each other. Like you know what they do in the beginning of a match? They are across the ring from each other? You have to stay lined up with that person, when he stops, you stop. He says you have to be ready to fight, so he's stressing that I walk around with my fists clenched all up in the air, which I felt like a total idiot doing kind of, while hes all casual and stuff, cause hes a wrestler and he's been doing it for a while. He also mentions that you can't like trip over yourself, or you'll just show how much of an ass you are. And in real life, I'm clumsy, I trip over myself all the time walking, but luckily, it didn't happen while doing this. Anyway, you circle each other, he stops, you stop and then you lock up. When doing the lock up, you place your left hand on their shoulder and your right sideways on their front side of their elbow. Then, it's all a dance. He steps back, you step forward, you step back, he steps forward. And then he gets you into the turnbuckle, release, and look like you gonna kick his ass. It's all acting and a dance. And he mentioned making like hissing sounds, which is totally pathetic I think.

Then, there was running against the ropes. The ropes are just a basic line of cable, if you get your head caught between them, it will hurt. To do them, you put your right side of your body against it and launch off. He made me do this like ten times and then a couple more times, which I tripped over myself twice. After this, I got motion sickness. I felt like I was gonna throw up and I was sweating like a stuck pig. I don't know whether it was cause I was running or it was really hot in there, but it was both. I threw up actually in the bathroom, but thats cause I had a hot fudge sunday from Mcdonalds before I came; stupid me. DO NOT DO THAT.

Then there was exiting the ring. There's 4 ways of doing this. Going through the middle rope forward, backward, and going over the top rope forward and backward. By going through the middle, you place your left hand on the rope, launch yourself through the middle and place your right hand on the apron so you don't bash your knee. Backwards, you close your hand on the rope and role out on your side and land on your feet. I struggled with this, but hey, I don't get stuff my first 4 or 5 times. When I say close your hand, like get in the pose of doing a bicep flex, only move your hand closer to your bicep. I wasn't confident enough in doing the top ropes yet, so I didn't do that.

And the last thing for that night was the wristlock. This is all acting right here, and it sucks. When someone has you in the wristlock, you have to keep a square with your feet and theres, Basically, you have to be directly across from them with your feet. While you do that, you have to keep your head up at the crowd, yelp in pain, make a painful facial expression here and there, and try to get out of the hold by using your right hand while you keep touching your shoulder in pain. It's like walking, chewing gum, rubbing your stomach, patting your head, blinking your eyes and nodding your head at the same time. I didn't learn to fall yet, but I will soon.

Yeah, so if anyone wants to try wrestling, you better be a mobile person and like to act and stuff. It's hard to be a wrestler, especially when you learn. I got a bruise on the front of my hand, I think from rolling out of the ring, on my side from running against the ropes and falling out of the ring, cause your side hits the apron, and on my shoulder blade from locking up with the guy, going all stiff arm. But yeah, those who want to go to wrestling, don't rush, take your time in learning the stuff and do not get frusterated with yourself. And do not eat a fudge sunday before you come. I wish I could do all this, but I suck. If you're a wrestler then you better be into it and want to learn it, and you have to want it cause it takes hard work I think. Me, I don't know if I want it yet, it was my first day actually in the ring, but I'm more on the negative side than positive, so yeah.
