It's the Andre feud. Not only was the first match epic in every sense of the word, it was an incredible draw and the build-up even crossed over and was mentioned in mainstream media. Then there was the build towards the rematch on Saturday Night's Main Event, where they had the bizarre Hebner twins referee twist, which led to the third match at WMIV.
After that, they headlined house shows for months. Even though the Hogan/Savage matches might've been better and their feud went on for decades and is a real life rivalry, there was just nothing bigger than Andre/Hogan in the 80's. It was like Cetics/Lakers or Mario/King Koopa. |
