YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Couldn't have hoped for a better, or more swift, resolution to Pete leaving. I'm thrilled to say the least. Now let's just get past the NCAA without infractions for past misgivings and we should be OK going forward. |

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?
The Fossil fired his ass in Oakland, and now he's going BACK to California to run USC? Plus the 1 and done season at Tenn. Kinda wanna knock the guy out if I was a freshman on that football team. |

I hope he gets shanked while leaving Tennessee
Seriously are these NCAAA coaching contracts written on a napkin from Denny's? They hold no weight |

Well it's the universities' faults that the coaches can breach contracts. The schools have every legal right when a coach leaves, but they often choose not to use any. And it's because they don't want to scare away their next hire. Nobody is going to want to come coach for the school that sues its coaches when there are other options out there.

Kiffin is a good fit for USC but I'm surprised he is dipping on Tennessee after just one season. I'm assuming that USC was his dream job because if things go bad at USC and he gets shit canned I don't see anyone lining up to hire him after this ditch move.
I bet if he knew that the USC job was going to open up this year he wouldn't have gone to Tennessee, probably would have just went back to being the OC at USC again, like he was prior to the Raiders job. Another thing that's kinda getting swept under the rug is the fact that Norm Chow is coming back to coach the offense at SC too. Things were pretty good last time he was there... |

It's definitely a good move for Kiffin but I'm surprised that it was the best move for USC. I mean we don't even know for sure if the guy can coach.

I'm guessing USC wanted to name Kiffin the heir apparent like Jimbo Fisher at FSU and Joker Phillips at Kentucky and Will Muschamp at Texas, but didn't because he left or because they thought Carroll would be around forever.
I'm really surprised they didn't go hard after Chris Petersen at Boise State. |

Yeah, really surprised by this. Kiffin to this point is all a name. He went to Oakland and did nothing (might not have been his fault). In one year at Tennessee he was nothing spectacular.
You'd just think that USC, with the location, the money, the reputation, resources, etc, could have had its pick. I'm not surprised they picked a big name over a promising but relatively unknown coach, but at least in my head Lane Kiffin carries a bad stigma. Will be interesting to see if he turns it around. Although the coordinators he is bringing in are huge. Who knows? |

Tennessee is going to luck out badly since their potential recruiting class was rated in the Top 10/15 for next year. Going to lose 5-6 players in top 25 recruits but their only good news is keeping the 6th ranked QB recruit for next year.
The fact Kiffin was able to recruit such a decent class for next year is a bit amazing considering the more powerful schools in the SEC. |

National Signing Day today
check out Stanford pulling in a top 15 class. Harbaugh has done wonders for that program. |
