SummerSlam FunFact: According to Wikipedia, the Randy Savage/Ultimate Warrior match was longer than the British Bulldog/Bret Hart match at SummerSlam 1992.

Really good show overall. Everything before the Kevin Rudolf bit was good to great.

Main event was a bit of a letdown though. The ending was fun but it just dragged massively at times and didn't feel like the brutal fight that I was expecting it to be going in. Of course this isn't it for Triple H. I'm expecting a rematch at Survivor Series or the Rumble.

If we learned anything tonight, it's that Brock Lesnar can still have a damn good match. Actually, after his time in UFC and his previous experience wrestling for the WWE, I think he's capable of having his best matches.

I also was suprised the Brock/HHH match wasn't more "brutal", but I guess they thought since Triple H can actually sell unlike John Cena that they didn't have to bust him open or anything.

Brock's match with Triple H didn't have to be as brutal as the one with John Cena because in this instance there was more of a story in the lead-up to the match.

Also, Hunter is a legend, so the mere fact of seeing Brock manhandling him was enough.

Maria Menounous. They showed her on cam too. Wearing a Bob Backlund shirt and Lawler wondered if it was Patt Patterson.

Maria is from Massachusetts...Boston area I believe.

Those who don't recognize Maria Menounos obviously don't watch the product because...ahem... she's had several matches already, including a Wrestlemania spot. And she's a better worker than 90% of their current female roster.

"Those who don't recognize Maria Menounos obviously don't watch the product".

Dude, talk to me. I was the one who asked who "that girl in the white t-shirt was". Don't go all "Those who don't..."

I watch, but I don't pay attention to Divas matches.

Or celebrity appearances.

Report: Fred Durst Escorted Out Of WWE SummerSlam

http://www.tpww.net/2012/08/report-f...we-summerslam/

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst was escorted out of the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California, the venue for WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event Sunday night, after flipping the bird while being shown on camera prior to the main event match-up between Brock Lesnar and Triple H.

Durst, however, is denying rumors that he was kicked out of the venue. He wrote on Twitter, “I was leaving to beat the traffic! Haha, security escorting me out?? WWE is family. hahaha. Is this really a rumor? Amazing. My boys at WWE are cracking up! Note- never leave early to beat traffic!”

The message was quickly deleted.

I would have scored so fucking much in Tipsters, but then I realised that I had too many faces winning and changed a lot of them. All the wrong ones.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but apart from the tag match, every other person wrestling on the card was a former/current WWE or WHC.

You know... I hated this whole 'respect' angle for Punk and saw it as a step down, as he just comes off as whiney heel #3254.

Then he goes out rocking the Bret Hart attire, complete with belt kiss.

Fucking hate him for making me like him so much now.

I watch, but I don't pay attention to Divas matches.

I doubt he was kicked out. I was at Raw in Atlanta a few months ago in the 4th row, and in the front row was this massive black guy with his wife. No idea who he was but fans kept approaching him for autographs and pictures throughout the night and he had a security guy sitting next to him. I assume he was probably an Atlanta Falcon or something. Anyway, just before the main event of the show happened (the Rock and Cena showdown) he and his wife got up and left. Probably to avoid the rush and the attention of the crowd at the end of the show. So yeah I bet celebrities leave early all the time. It's pretty shocking that they'd make the effort to go there and not even see the main feature though.

Maybe he was going backstage to meet some of the roster?

Same can be said for Durst.

CM Punk wearing gear based on Bret Hart's tights was awesome.

A nice nod to the fact that it was the 20th anniversary of Bret's Summerslam match vs The British Bulldog at Wembley Stadium.
