I am among those that hope that Kevin Nash does not turn out to be a "bodyguard/associate" of Del Rio.

Of course, the only place I have seen this "rumor" is the front page of TPWW, which seems to be reporting it as fact.

I'd think that if he was with Del Rio, he would have left with him. I think this is something else.

Something sinister in nature.

At least I'll have some extra time to try & wrap my head around what I saw.

...Right, if Diesel was Del Rio's bodyguard, he wouldn't have left him alone...he would've stuck ringside as Del Rio won the Title, and then left with him...

...this is something else...and something tells me Triple H and Diesel are in "cahoots" (as Vince would say) with each other...

Haven't looked through the thread completely. Didn't get to see the PPV live but did have it recorded and just finished it.

The opener was solid. What you'd have expected from the match. Liked that stunner/DDT thing Miz did. I would have preferred they set the match up throughout the night and threw it on third or fourth instead of opening it and rushing the build to it.

Loved Henry vs. Sheamus. Should be a great feud going forward. Could see it going to Cell.

Skipped Cee Lo Green. The Divas match was what it was. Don't really see the point in Kelly going over. They protected Beth, but a heel beating the face in the end after something like this is going to be weird, IF it happens.

Danielson vs. Barrett was solid. Don't get Danielson jobbing, but okay, whatever. He had a solid showing.

The Edge thing surprised me, and confused me at first since Christian is heel. Edge looked like he lost a lot of mass.

Christian vs. Orton was pretty awesome, and pretty damn violent. Orton brought it. Orton won, whatever. But the match was probably tied for MOTN, with.....

Punk vs. Cena. Awesome match. Not quite on par with MITB, but it's up there. It was truly an awesome match. I felt like they were going to restart the match with the leg on the rope. Then Nash hit the ring and I was like "lol what". I'm honestly really happy with the finish. It leaves things wide open for Cena/Punk/Hunter. I really hope it isn't leading to Nash vs. Punk, though. I can definitely see this being the start of a new corporate-like stable. I'm thinking we'll see Nash vs. Cena and Hunter vs. Punk down the line. Nash being connected to Del Rio wouldn't even cross my mind (it was mentioned by someone). It's pretty obviously Hunter-related.

Del Rio winning.... I honestly don't think he can carry the title and make it work on the level he needs it to. I get why they want it on him, and I guess Rey will be his first feud. But I doubt he'll go down in history, at least in this run, as even a good champion.

In the end, the Hunter/Cena/Punk storyline has A LOT more space to work now, and I think it'll get a whole lot more crazy going into Survivor Series and beyond. Awesome cliff hanger.

I'd put SummerSlam a notch below MITB. The second best PPV this year.

That's what I was hoping the angle would be, which could build toward the Punk/HHH feud that's been rumored. Bodyguard of Del Rio just wouldn't be as good of a story.

calling this here and now.

Cena claims that Del Rio never won the title from CM Punk, because Punk didn't win it legitimately in the first place.

Proceed to Triple Threat Match at next PPV

It's just so obvious Hunter is involved with Nash that they really should put someone like Vince behind him. I think establishing Hunter as a legit authority figure by not having him be behind bullshit like this would be a good move in the long run. Build the fan's false sense of security and turn him down the line.

Vince being behind Nash could be really interestling, really. Vince isn't done just yet. I don't think he'll be the boss again, but he'll get a more grand storyline sendoff.

I dunno. The finished seemed messy to me. Having Del Rio as champ is great (although I wish that it wasn't at the expense of Punk) and Nash being back in what is obviously going to be a dominant role is great.

The title picture seems overcrowded now, and we've had something ridiculous like four champions in a month - something TNA would do. Plus Rey being in the picture is something I do not want to see again. It seems like they have absolutely no faith in Punk as a figurehead of the company - just like after he vanquished Jeff Hardy a few years ago. We were all certain he'd go on to lead the company until he jobbed out to the Undertaker at the very next event.

I actually had a feeling Kevin Nash would be returning at SummerSlam. For some reason, though, I had a feeling that he'd be brought in as Christian's "associate" to help him retain the World Heavyweight Title against Randy Orton, and draw some attention for SmackDown!.

The opening match was solid and it got the crowd pumped for the night.

Henry vs Sheamus was a good match. I think the count-out victory is perfect for keeping this thing going.

Diva's match. meh. I guess we will get a rematch at NoC

Bryan vs Barrett was a solid match. I too am confused on why Bryan jobbed out.

Christian vs Orton in my opinion was MotN. I marked out like a bitch for Edge. I like how we saw a little vicious side to Christian although I don't like the fact he lost

Punk vs Cena was awesome though not quite on par with their MitB match. The foot on the rope, Nash, and Del Rio cashing in has got me interested where they go from here. I see a triple threat at NoC

The finish was moronic. Nash is with Steph. HHH vs Steph fued is coming its obvious why else is she just randomly on tv all of a sudden ? HHH wants to do things the right way (hand shake @the end) but Steph is just like here daddy a vindictive little Bit@h. The only reason the Mexican JBL cashed in tonight is cause there going to Mexico soon and the want him as champ. All the heat that Punk had has been for nothing in typical wwe fashion. The least they could have done is give Punk the win clean. But no the mighty John Cena cant be pinned clean even though hes over like crazy. Ever since MITB they have screwed up what punk had going but yet he is over like crazy. Punk should have been off tv till Survivor series then came back saying he was the real champ defending his wwe championship(the real championship) even though they would not recognized him as wwe champ. Then he wins the royal rumble from #1 so he can keep up the best in the world schtick and go on to head line mania over the rock vs cena. but the McMahon's have to be at the for front of wwe tv as always and it makes me sick. Its like they never plan months ahead for the monster payoff. They should be more worried about getting talent over and keeping them over instead of them self's. Just when it looks like they were turning a page its back to the same old Bull $hit. If it wasn't for the pipe bomb in hand id be calling it quits with wwe.

The Cena/Punk angle has been rather interesting but... (SPOILERS)

I had no intention of ordering Summerslam (I usually order the big 4) and I have no intention watching RAW. This likely sounds odd from a mostly lifelong wrestling fan but it seems to me that WWE wants to do everything in their power to make this angle about EVERYONE but CM Punk and Cena.

HHH making himself the referee pretty much sealed it for me. Not only that him being added felt forced - it did - but I couldn't care less about him being the ref. What was annoying IMO - was that it would take the spotlight away from Punk/Cena going forward. Consider prior to last night all of the outcomes to the match.

Cena wins clean - terrible
Punk wins clean - highly unlikely
HHH screws over Punk - HHH must come out and explain his actions
HHH screws over Cena - HHH must come out and explain his actions
Dusty finish in which there is no clear winner: HHH must explain the fate of the title
Oddball: Say Del Rio/Bryan cashes in and wins: Del Rio cuts a shitty promo about destiny before HHH comes out and informs him that Cena/Punk gets a rematch

Obviously, tonight starts off with Del Rio and then H interrupting him.

Not really meant to be a gripefest or anything. I just feel like WWE does there best to blow their load and turn gold into shit - especially here adding unnecessary elements. Although HBK/RR>>>>>> Punk/Cena but I digress. Am I the only one feeling this way?

Awesome ending, really excited to see where this leads to on Raw.

I do hope Nash is more than just Del Rio's bodyguard. Way more entertaining things he can be doing in this story.

The extra elements make this more intriguing in my opinion. There was only so much of the HHH/Cena/Punk worked shoot stuff that they could do before that got old. Now you throw Del Rio and an amazing talker like Kevin Nash in the mix and it's fresh again because everyone is curious about how he factors into it and if it's a conspiracy.

Strange ending, I used up all my mark-outs over Orton killing off Christian, so I found Cena/Punk a little less dramatic than it should have been. I can already feel the CM Punk return heat cooling off very quickly. It was still enjoyable though.

I'm glad they finally pulled the trigger on Del Rio being Champ, but more matches against Rey is going to be really dull to watch. I think the best thing they can do is keep the title off of Cena and Punk for the remainder of the year and shift focus to other guys.

Hopefully Christian fucks off to the midcard where he belongs, and we get something new such as Barrett vs. Orton.

Lightbulb Seeing it half full

I feel quite the opposite. This might sound a bit like rambling, but allow me to lay this out:

Two people with very close real life ties to Triple H (Kevin Nash and Stephanie McMahon) came back last night. So you have the potential for McMahon-Helmsley 2.0 which obviously has both CM Punk and John Cena to feud with them because both have varying pasts with TripleH/StephanieMcMahon plus, what happened at SummerSlam. Triple H & Steph could come out tonight and reveal that they created a plan that lead to last night's events. They could point out that they tricked CM Punk into coming back so that he would defend his WWE title. Then he could say he put Del Rio in contact with Nash to ensure that they cost Punk the title and now he will never get another shot and that they are going to make his life hell, etc. Maybe point out that Punk said at Axxess this weekend that he does not care if he gets fired. Could lead to Punk being the underdog trying to get a title shot again the hard way. Maybe wins the Royal Rumble and wins the WWE title at Wrestlemania.

Cena will maybe get a match against Del Rio at perhaps Night of Champs. Tease tension between Cena & Triple H/Steph. Then have The Rock show up and cost Cena the title. Maybe Triple H comes out after NOC and says he had The Rock come cost Cena the title. The war of words continues on the build up to the Cena vs Dwayne match at Mania. Maybe The Rock helps Cena win the title at Elimination Chamber and tells Cena he did it not to help Cena but to make sure he could beat Cena for the title.

To sum it up, I think things are just starting to get good. For the first time in a while, I am really interested to see what goes on tonight on RAW.
(Oh, and spare me the posts about "too long to read/can someone translate").

Honestly love how they left the ending and can't wait for Raw tonight. I'm with the group that hope Nash isn't with Del Rio. There's so many ways they can go with this storyline still.

There's still all the options available of starting up a corporation style stable, although I don't think that's what will happen. Nash could come in and just say he wanted to help Hunter make sure he does a good job with it and that Punk as champ isn't going to benefit the company, Hunter responds saying he doesn't need help etc etc.

Cena/Punk already feels old, but I can see both being added to a multi-talent WWE Title match at NOC, just to put the feud to bed.

Glad they did what they did. Punk vs. Cena needs to be done for now. I don't think they can replicate MITB so early. They also need to book Cena a bit better otherwise they're going to kill off their own babyface, since they're so adamant about keeping him as one. Kevin Nash was a random surprise.

ADR winning the title didn't feel like anything. MITB is neat and all, but damn. It's pretty cheap. Starting to get old.

Solid PPV.

I think SummerSlam was a good PPV.

The Six-Man Tag Match was a good match the open the show.

I haven't really seen SmackDown in about two months, so I haven't really seen much of Sheamus and Mark Henry, but from what I saw last night, I think it's going to be a good feud. I'm not going to lie, I like Mark Henry and I really like what they've got going for him at the moment with him being this unstoppable force who just goes around and fucks shit up.

The ending of the match was great. I didn't expect both guys to demolish the barricade and having the match end on a count out leaves the fued wide open for more. Though was it just me or did anyone else think the guys around the barricade were "plants"?

They just seemed far far too enthusiastic to me to be normal people. Especially the guy to the right of Sheamus in the grey shirt.

But anyway, moving on to Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix, I actually liked that match and I love the team of Beth and Natalya, not too keen on the apparent name though. "Divas of Doom"? Sounds a bit corny to me, but we'll all accept it sometime down the line. It always happens. Personally, I would have named them "Divas of Destruction" if they wanted to go down the "Divas of *Word that begins with "D"* route, but I guess that's too close to Undertaker & Kane.

It was a good match but at the time, I didn't get why Kelly won. It didn't really make much sense, Beth becomes this major threat to Kelly and basically all the "bimbo Divas" and has Natalya on her side and was pretty much in control for the majority of the match last night and then she loses to Kelly Kelly via roll-up.

But it does leave it open for more which is a good thing. I want to see more of Beth & Natalya and Kelly isn't THAT bad, and Eve is alright. Though Kelly needs to stop screaming. The WWE got rid of one screaming bitch, we really don't need another one.

Barrett/Bryan is hard for me to talk about because I never really got to see it as my stream kept freezing and jumping forward every five seconds so I never really got to enjoy it. But from what I saw, it was great match and Barrett winning will most likely mean more of Barrett/Bryan and maybe a match at Night of Champions.

The Christian/Orton match is another one that's hard for me to talk about due to my stream. I searched other streams but they all did the same, so I just had to sit through the freezing and the jumping, but seeing Edge was great. He's looking well and his promo was great. The match itself though was great too, the weapons were used well and the ending was pretty amazing.

Now, the Main Event, was great. It was actually 50/50 between Punk and Cena and like some people have said, it was great but not quite there with their match at Money in the Bank, but a great match nonetheless. Triple H was actually fair, though it seemed like everyone apart from me and about three others thought he was going to take a side during the match and the ending was a bit sudden, but good. I also liked the Macho Man taunt and elbow drop and the "Randy Savage" chants that followed.

I thought that maybe it was going to be restarted but it didn't. The words exchanged between Cena and Triple H leaves me thinking that if Triple H is having a retirement match or whatever, then it's looking like it'll be against Cena. As Punk was celebrating, I did see some big guy walking towards the barricade and on first look, before the camera angle suddenly changed to Punk, I thought it was Jackson Andrews.

My stream was so bad that I couldn't recognise Kevin Nash. But when the camera cut to Nash, I immediately thought "Holy shit! Nash!". It was a great powerbomb by Nash and Del Rio cashing in surprised me, especially when he won.

It got me thinking though. Crazy theories coming up by the way.

The storyline will probably be something like Triple H was planning to be fair all along during the match and not seeing Cena's foot on the rope was a legitimate mistake. Cena's pissed and starts something with Triple H. Sometime down the line, maybe even tonight, it all comes to light that Triple H had Nash as a backup of sorts, to attack Punk, just incase Punk won as Triple H doesn't think Punk should be champion anyway as he walked out on the company and he just generally hasn't gotten along with Punk at all.

But Triple H informed Del Rio of this plan so Del Rio could be ready for when Nash hits the ring. So Punk wins, Nash hits the rings, powerbombs the hell out of Punk, Del Rio cashes in, becomes the new WWE Champion and Triple H is happy as Punk is no longer champion and MAYBE this is the start of possibly Triple H getting some boos when it all comes to light and slowly becoming like Vince. It's hard to describe what I'm talking about but what I'm talking about is the whole "Being this person will fuck you up" thing you see in the movies.

I'll attempt to describe it. Vince started off as this happy and fair man in charge, then slowly he became a dick who only did what was good for business and didn't really care what the fans thought. Triple H becomes in charge, says that won't happen to him, and he's this happy and fair man in charge but slowly he becomes a dick who only does what's good for business and doesn’t really care what the fans think.

Anyway, crazy theories over, I think SummerSlam was great and I look forward to Raw tonight. I'm also looking forward to see what matches we'll see at Night of Champions.

I have no problems at all with how things went down tbh. I really liked the surprise of Nash returning. You have Cena and Punk with legitimate gripes about how the match ended. This could set up an awesome triple threat or fatal 4 way at Night of Champions. Either Cena vs Punk vs Del Rio or a fatal 4 way with Mysterio in the mix would be awesome.

I just think it's way too early for people to be shitting all over this and I can't wait for Raw tonight.

From a storyline perspective, this is great.

It's probably Stephanie like someone else said. Triple H wanting to do things legit, and her bringing out Kevin Nash. Like she'll try to get her way with him by trying to reunite him with "The Kliq"
