Have you ever thought that A. It's not like the entire goddamn WWE is going, and B. the fact that the wrestler's who will be there are going to be close friends of Eddie and his family? Funerals are for close friends and family. It is perfectly understandable that the family does not want thousands of people showing up who they don't know. Let the family mourn their loss in peace. We have Raw, we have Smackdown, we have message boards and websites that let us post our thoughts. Let the family have their funeral without second guessing them. They are suffering, and they deserve it. If you feel otherwise, you're an ignorant and utterly selfish asshole. |

Ok, Cerebral Assassin, cut that shit out. The family of the deceased have a right to have a private funeral. Have some fucking respect.
Now you've been warned. Any more, and you're banned. |

It's respecting PRIVACY. As nice of a gesture in theory as making this public would be, it would turn into a media circus. Think of how his daughters would feel, being subjected to the public microscope while they are still deeply in morning. Maybe they'll have a public memorial service, but even if they don't, how is that your fault? You're tainted by this belief that they're spoiled celebrities acting like the world owes them a silver platter, when this is clearly not the case.
Those kids have already been traumatized enough by losing their dad, having thousands of people show up, however good the intention may be, could very well overwhelm them. They're still kids. Shaul's not even 15 yet, right? She hasn't even celebrated her quinciera. Just because you feel a certain way doesn't mean that applies to everyone else. It's certainly natural to react selfishly in grief and hope for certain things, because that's what mourning will bring, but to take it this far is just appalling. I also find it ironic that you accuse others of starting a flame war when you are the one who FIRST posted the inciteful comments. "Fuck you Vicki?" You are a pathetic hypocrite, no better than that ESPN Radio cronie who spouted off on a matter he knew practically nothing of. |

I've seen many wrestlers come and go, but Eddie's passing is eating at me more than I thought it would. It's getting to me more than any other loss in the wrestling world has. I thought I'd just break down in tears once, and get over it.
This is getting to me, and I'm just a fan. I'm going to pray for Eddie's soul, for his family, and for his friends... Oh, Cerebral Assasin, if you'd be so kind as to fuck off that'd be great. It's already been said that if you're not a friend or family you shouldn't be there. The ones were were close to Eddie needs their time. It's not a matter of celebs trying to put up a border between "us" and "them." It's respect. |

It's near impossible for Celebrities to have public funerals, there would be waaaaay too many people going. Plus none of us knew him, NONE OF US! Unless you personally knew Eddie you have no right to be there. If you are invited sure, but that's the family's choice

I'm still numb. I was going to try and post something yesterday when I read the news, but I couldn't. I appreciate the WWE doing the best they could given the short time frame with a tribute show to Eddie. I taped the RAW and went to bed after the Chris Benoit interview, I just couldn't take anymore. Hopefully with time I can go back and watch the tape and celebrate Eddie's life without being mad at how cruel life often is.
I will not pretend to write words to describe how great Eddie was as my literary skills are way too deficient in comparison the the smiles and cheers Eddie brought to me every week. I forget which poster mentioned Eddie being the total package. No description can be more accurate. Often the Marks and IWC are on different pages when it comes to its love of certain wrestlers. However, there is no doubt that both types of fans loved Eddie. |

One of the guys at my office, taking lunch orders, casually said to me "Hey, I heard one of your wrestling guys died the other day. Kinda tragic. See what steroids and cocaine'll do to ya?"
I just gave him my money for the lunch order and looked away. |

It's just amazing looking at it from a non-wrestling fan point-of-view. It's just another death. Since it was "only" a wrestler, it doesn't really matter in the real world to them. I could've gone on about how he was an inspiration to recovering addicts and to wrestling fans in general, but he wouldn't have understood, sadly.

Cerebral Assassin, you suck.
Anyway, this is from WWE.COM. Vickie Guerrero speaks on Eddie's autopsy report Nov. 15, 2005 After the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, WWE and the entire sports-entertainment community is still reeling from the devastating loss of a champion. The initial autopsy reports on Guerrero have come in. WWE.com spoke with Eddie’s widow, Vickie Guerrero, earlier today. “It was heart failure. It was from his past – the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that’s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep. As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn’t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn’t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn’t feeling good and we thought it was just “road tired.” So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard. When he didn’t call me last night and the night before I knew it was for real, because he would call me every night. I miss his phone calls. I cried through the whole thing (last night). I loved his laugh. His laugh was the best. We just celebrated his four-year sobriety last Thursday. We just thought we had life by the handful. We thought we had it all figured out. He worked so hard to make a better life for us. I’m just overwhelmed by how people are coming out. It’s touched my heart a lot. Everybody was just in awe last night in how beautifully everything was put together. All my life was wrestling. All he did was take care of them and live for that. And I don’t know what to do now.” http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/causeofdeath Damn, heart failure. ![]() R.I.P Eddie. ![]() |

Death hasn't seemed to hit me very hard, mainly due to the fact that I have been fortunate and only lost two members of my family, and they were both older grandparents. But this will really hit me when I go to Survivor Series. Considering that Eddie has already been announced for the show, when he doesn't show up, it will really hit me then. I'm gonna try to take a sign to show my respect for Eddie.

This is from my Mother but she wanted me to post this here so everyone would know how she felt about Eddie.....
I'm handicapped and dont get out very much at all.My Husband and Son watch Wrestling all the time but I only watch Smackdown.I only watch it until Eddie comes out and then I dont watch anymore of it and after the tribute on Smackdown this Friday I wil not be viewing anymore because it will too hard to watch with Eddie not being there. My Son got to meet Eddie here in Roanoke Va. in 2003 and unfortunately i could'nt go.Eddie was signing autogrpahs for everyone and He was only gonna sign 1 for each person to make it go quicker but my Son told Eddie how much I loved watching him and Eddie signed an extra autograph just for me.People might not think that was a big deal but to me it was a very big deal and it meant the world to know that not only did Eddie love his fans but he loved his handicapped fans as well. I will never forget Eddie and he will forever be missed |

Whenever somebody says something to a different extreme than somebody else people here always say "Don't post again", "You suck" etc.
Cerebral Assassin, now knows that he might have crossed the line with those comments and is sorry he offended most of the people that saw it. While I see it as disrespectful, I also see it as anger, anger because fans can't see the wrestler who entertained them for so many years, while I believe Fans should be able to see their favourite celebrities, sometimes it's better they don't, you might be very professional about it and stay out of the families way, you wouldn't even say anything, but there are people out there who wouldn't be so respectfull and quiet... you know? ![]() |

Losing Eddie has been more painful on me than any other death in wrestling. It shows a lot when I cry that a person I didn't even know has died. That says something.

Whats errie is on a WM 20 promo that you can see on many DVD's from that period. They show many superstars like Booker, Eddie, Big Show, Brock, Angle, etc. and the voice says ''one day we will die'' and it is showing Eddie.

I was looking for pics of The Undertaker, for my next C-Fed promo when I came across this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- American Badass has put together a Eddie Guerrero tribute video which covers his entire career, showing why we all love Latino Heat so much. A big thanks to ABA for the video, which you can download by clicking HERE. We can confirm Undertaker is on the Survivor Series Tour which began yesterday in Rome, Italy. Undertaker defeated Randy Orton and after the match kneeled in the ring looking at a banner dedicated to Eddie Guerrero. There are reports that Undertaker has grown a beard, which could be an indication towards a new look at Survivor Series. We will try to get some more information on this and keep you updated regarding Undertaker on the tour. A big thanks to Grendel for providing this information, which he kindly translated for us who can't speak Italian. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So it looks like The Undertaker is taking Eddie's place as SS. |

I hope this wasn't posted elsewhere, but Lance Storm has posted commentary on Eddie, giving his thoughts and comments on his only match with Eddie ever. As usual, it's an honest and very interesting and entertaining read:
http://www.stormwrestling.com/111505.html Eddie November 15, 2005 I really have no idea what I’m about to write; I just feel the need to write something. I, like everyone else, was stunned by the news of Eddie Guerrero’s death. One of my students left a voice mail message on my cell phone that I got Sunday morning when I woke up. It was not the way I wanted to start my day. I didn’t actually know Eddie all that well. We had never gotten together outside of the arena and to be honest never really spoke much inside it, but despite that there was a bond between us, a closeness that had no reason for being. I don’t know if it was just his amazing sincerity or our mutual friends and respect for this business that made me feel closer to him than I really was. Every time I saw Eddie, I was greeted with genuine emotion and love I can’t explain. His face would light up and you just felt that he cared. This is a unique quality I’ve never seen in anyone else. Eddie had the ability to touch people inexplicably. Eddie was a guy I only worked once, never went out with, and as sad as this sounds I can’t recall a conversation between us that lasted more than a couple minutes, yet some how I always felt close to him. I felt a genuine love and connection to Eddie, which I can’t for the life of me explain. I guess he was just a special person that way, he loved people, and I for one felt that love and will always be grateful for it. I first met Eddie in Japan when we both worked an interpromotional event called “The Sky Diving J” I opened the show that night and he closed it in the main event. He stole the show that night as he did so many nights, and from that day on I knew I wanted to work with Eddie Guerrero. It took almost 7 years for that match to come about, as our career paths never seemed to cross. We missed each other in ECW and WCW, and were almost exclusively on different brands in WWE. Our one match was a strange one, which only a select few people got to see. It wasn’t on RAW or SmackDown, Velocity or Heat, nor PPV, it was at a house show in where else? Calgary…Alberta, Canada. It was a SmackDown house show and I was on RAW. RAW was on an overseas tour, which I was left off of. With me being a hometown boy and at home I was added to the event as a last minute special appearance. I was scheduled to do a Brother Love interview segment, but that was about to change. I was sitting in the locker room in my street clothes, as the first match headed to the ring (my interview segment was going to be after the 7th or 8th match). Vince McMahon was doing house shows at that time with Zack Gowen, and he arrived at the building and decided to shake the card up a little. He walked up to me and says, “You know what match I’d pay to see tonight? … Lance Storm vs. Eddie Guerrero for the United States Title (Eddie was champ at the time). Let’s put that match on second.” SECOND! I kid you not. The first match has already started and I’m sitting in the locker room in my street clothes. Thankfully I was taught to always be prepared and I had my gear in the car. I bolted to the parking lot to get my stuff while praying the first match goes a little long. Someone went to find Eddie to tell him his scheduled match had both been changed and bumped up. As I’m scrambling to get my gear on before my music plays Eddie walks into my locker room cool as can be. These aren’t the exact words but I bet there damn close, “You and me tonight?” “Yep” I replied “Okay, since you’re from here, I’ll be the heel. (Eddie was technically a baby face at the time) When you’re done your comeback and hit all your false finishes go to give me a German, I’ll back kick you and hit you with the frog splash, okay?” “Sure, whatever you want. That’s your music, I’ll see you out there.” “You got it?” “When I’m done, I’ll go for the German” That was it; that was all we had. We had never stepped in the ring together before, and we were going to the ring with, “When I’m done I’ll go for a German.” I was still taping my wrists and putting on my elbow pads on the way to the ring, no warm up, no stretching, nothing. The match was far from perfect, more my fault than Eddie’s trust me, but it was far better than it had any right to be. He called the entire thing and we went likely 15-20 minutes. Arena reports from fans praised the match but I was never happy with it. I knew Eddie and I could have done better, I had wanted to work Eddie for years and knew we could have stole the show had we had the chance. I wanted to give both Eddie and the fans my best and I don’t feel that I did. I always hoped to have the chance to do that match right, but sadly now, we know that will never happen. I’m not entirely sure why Vince put us on in such a tough spot. The office, at the time, was pushing to the younger guys the importance of being able to just go to the ring and work, and perhaps this was both a test for me, and a demonstration to the younger guys that it could be done. Either way Vince thanked me for the match and I think respected my ability to answer his challenge. Truth be told it wasn’t that much of a challenge, I was in the ring with Eddie Guerrero, it would have been much tougher to have a bad match. You will be missed Eddie, you were a great person, and an unparalleled performer. I will miss our unexplained closeness, and I will miss watching you work. When wrestling is done right it is art, and Eddie, my friend you were an incredible artist. My deepest sympathies and condolences to Eddie’s family, I cannot fathom the pain and loss you are experiencing, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Lance Evers ![]() ![]() ![]() |
