At least with G&W's bucket you have to physically touch the projectile.. unlike Rosalina's down+B which just abuses poor Ness

Likely getting fixed in the near future but would be wise to not do any griefing while playing online (friends or strangers) since some first time bannings are ending up in the range of 136 years. The usual punishment for this is around 15 minutes.

That's such a stupid policy, even without the bug. If you notice a weak player on their team it would be counter-productive to NOT "pick on them", since all online games are timed.

Some good and bad news for the game's next patch.

The good news being the patch is going to offer another balance update, fix some smaller problems with the game, and likely going to remove/tweak the banning glitch punishment.

Although I'm afraid I've also got some bad news ....


Saved game replays are likely going to become unplayable with the new update as a trade-off. May or may just end up erasing all game replay saves.

eShop currently has the Wii U's digital version available to purchase and pre-load with the game itself to fully unlock on release day.

Also for those considering the idea of pushing the internal clock ahead to get the game to unlock early, Nintendo fixed that mistake from the 3DS' version launch. Wii U version requires an extra patch to be downloaded which will only be available on the actual launch day.

For those interested, Hori is making a custom Gamecube type controller for the Wii U for Smash Bros.

Three controllers overall although one right now is Japan exclusive.

Sakuri states there are no plans for future DLC after Mewtwo arrives. He's treating Mewtwo more as an "experiment" project being done than as the start of a DLC phase.

For those interested in using Amiibos for the game, it didn't take long before hoarders started buying and jacking up the price of them on Amazon and Ebay. So far just Marth's figurine seems to be the rarest and average price on Amazon alone for one is around $30.

Shulk and Meta Knight likely going to be next since both are retail exclusive for the next wave of figurines.

Played the DS version in target, liked it a lot. although I hate the DS control pad.... too weird.

How is online in this game (Wii U)? Is it good? I may get the game if its online is decent.

We didn't try online mode yet, but I've heard it's much better than Brawl. That's not saying much, though. I did play the 3DS version online and if the netcode is similar that would be a good thing.

Best surprise/thing in the game so far was Bowser Jr.'s color swaps all being the 7 Koopa Kids... and best characters in the game

Wii Fit Trainer is also jAwesome

Mega Man is Mega Man 2 which makes me really happy

Dr. Wily's Castle stage is mad disappointing... they could have picked from literally hundreds of classic mega man stages to make a level out of but they just did some generic thing pasted on top of a cool background. They did the same thing in Brawl with New Pork City... kinda annoys me

My sister brought her Wii U down from Ohio for thanksgiving. We rented Smash tonight and played the shit out of multiplayer. Super fun. After everybody else went to bed, I played the board game mode.

It's a mode where you roll dice to travel the board getting power-ups and collecting characters. There's special attacks to use on other players on the board. At the end of the game (when a certain number of turns have been met) you all have a brawl using the characters you collected as stock.

Kinda fun actually. But there seems to be no way to keep your controls.
