Christina's last album kicked ass. It's still in my cd player. And Asphyxy, metal is not coming back. God help us all if it does.

Not to mention anyone who saw the advertising for the tour, or the article on them that appeared in Kerrang, or the reviews of their album in the UK music press in general...

another point, i guess, is it probably is difficult to come with something new or original considering how long music has been around and to try sonething that's never been done just by the sheer amount of bands that have ever existed. considering this, it shouldn't be difficult to find something appealing, whether it's new or some band that peaked in 1968 or whatever.

There are mad talented people who use computers.

the problem is, some people use them to the exclusion of all else, including creativity.

Computers are simulataneously a Godsend of the musician and its bane.

It makes music making easier, but it also makes musicians lazy.

I think people should turn off their televisions and LOOK for music. The great bands with talent aren't the ones being exposed, so you have to look for them. There's plenty of great music out there.

BTW, just to egg on everyone here, I was flipping through the channels last night and I saw this show that was about William Hung (like a tic-tac). That guy has fans. These girls were all like "Woo we like William Hung (like a dingleberry) He is underrated (unerrated?) and we want to touch his big bulbus head, and the tiny one shaped like a lightbulb!" Why does that guy have fans anyway? Man, I'm going to start a fan club for the star wars kid, and I'm going to get on E! and tell the world that I want to have sex with him and wrap myself up in his jello fat rolls afterwards.

Not many songs on their newest CD were metal. Bands like Shadows Fall, Black Dahlia Murder, and the like are all getting a free ride in terms of popularity. To get popular, all you have to do is write songs with this generic formula:

--------------------------|--------------------------|
--------------------------|--------------------------|
--------------------------|--------------------------|
--------------------------|--------------------------|
-----X-----X-----X-----X-|-----X-----X-----X-----X-|
-0-0---0-0---0-0---0-0---|-8-8---8-8---7-7---7-7---|

X can be any note in the E minor scale. At The Gates made this formula, and bands are ripping them off all over the place. It's disgusting when you know exactly how a song will sound the first time you listen to it.

But the bands using the formula today are being hailed as original and extremely talented because no one has ever heard of At The Gates in the mainstream. It's really not fair.
