Why do the detractors of baseball seem to be the most vocal? I feel like it's just hard feelings from little league or something

I do like sports, I'm not stupid, and baseball hasn't been popular in years, in fact it's about to be surpassed by the NBA in terms of popularity. The pecentage of fans are decreasing every year. The All-Star game didn't sell out for the first time in forever. And if the Yankees or Red Sox aren't in the world series than it can barely get any ratings.

Baseball is dying, and young people today don't care, doesn't look good for baseball in 20 years.

Few things: one, the All Star game had an attendance of 45,408 for a stadium that seats 45,281. Pretty sure that counts as a sellout. Two, you claim the NBA is going to pass the MLB in terms of popularity soon and that people only watch the World Series if the Yankees or Red Sox are in it, yet why did the NBA get good ratings for their playoffs? Maybe because the Lakers and the Celtics were in the finals? Hmm, maybe. Let's get the Spurs and the Pistons playing each other and see how that does. Also don't worry about the NBA gaining too much momentum, because that lockout that's happening soon will kill it off quick. Just ask the NHL. Three, how many young people have you talked to about baseball?

LeBrons special did better in the ratings than the All Star Game, which was the lowest rating in years, and while the game may have been sold out, I read that there was quite a few empty seats.

I dont need to love or hate a sport to follow sports in general, and I don't need to follow it to read facts, and know that baseball is on the decline. Attendance is decreasing, and ratings are down. Those are facts, I dont need to be a Yankee or Sox fan to know that.

Ands I agree about baseball. Although playoffs come it is an interesting watch and I don't mind it. But regular season is UNBEARABLE. I feel like im wasting my life watching it for 3 hours..but that's just me. In person is a different story ..it's fun going to the stadium and getting a good buzz.

Championship: NFL - The Superbowl is like a guaranteed "game 7".
Playoffs: NFL - I would say MLB, but they've been drawing it out too much lately and it screws the strategy. I know the NHL playoff/Stanley Cup are "amazing", but I can't get into it.
Regular Season: MLB - I would say NFL because "every game counts", but with the amount of games in the MLB season it really makes it feel legit.
Tradition: MLB - Founded in 1869, and many things that happened over 100 years ago still matter.
Hall of Fame: MLB
All Star Game: NFL - MLB sometimes, but this year's sucked.

Regular Season: MLB (162 games, playing almost every day, takes alot to make it through the season)
Tradition: MLB (NUFF SED, i like the way players of today are measured against the players of the past)
Hall of Fame: MLB (seems a tad harder to get into the hall)
All Star Game: NBA (the guys just go nuts)
All Star Festivities: NBA (a few more things to do for the players and the fans)
Draft: NFL (they just do it better)
Television Coverage: MLB (seeing that im in NZ, we dont get much of anything, so what i see of it all, baseball comes up better)
Live Atmosphere: aint been to anything live of these 4
Uniforms: NHL ( i just like them)
Fans: NHL (they are loyal to a bloody fault)

I'm not a baseball fan by any means, but I have never heard of people having bad experiences when going in person and I went to several HS games this year since I got a job at my old school's athletic department and loved it.

My biggest gripes with baseball are that the 1st half of the season really doesn't matter, and that it seems like 75% of the time the players don't give a shit what happens.
