Matt Hardy's second run was pretty neat. When the whole Edge/Lita/Matt Hardy love triangle blown up, came out of the crowd for a couple Raws to beat the shit out of Edge and all this security came down. Then Vince brought him back.
.....yeah. |

That Jericho debut was pretty awesome but I think they let Rock talk too much. But it was the first time I'd seen "it doesn't matter," yada yada, which back then, was fresh/funny.
There is a YouTube comment where someone states that John Cena disliked the vid because Jericho was talking about saving the WWE from him in the new millenium. lol. If only that were booked like that. I have to go with Undertaker. Probably because I was young enough to be scared of the dude. |

Chris Jericho's debut was awesome, but The Rock ruined it for me.

Yeah, I loved Jericho's debut, except for the fact he eventually got brought down by The Rock. I know The Rock was a face and Jericho was a heel, but still, I wanted Jericho to own The Rock or something, Dunno.

Well, apparently Aguakate said the same thing, except he used less words.

Big Show's debut was pretty incredible at the time, tbh. It's easy to overlook now

Some debuts...man, in 2001 the crowd would pop for practically anything! Great times.
One of my favorites: Seeing Hulk Hogan in the WWE (WWF) alongside Hall and Nash was weird...I don't know if it is that he looked small, that it had been so long since we had last seen him in WWF...but it didn't look "real"... ...or perhaps it was that you would've expected more of a build for HULK HOGAN'S RETURN TO THE WWF...that was BIG...yet it was overlooked, kinda...Vince McMahon and the WWF just focused on the NWO. |

Not so much 'debut' as 'build'. Was 2 months before they even mentioned his name, 3 months before he wrestled a match etc. So good. |

The Undertakers debut was pretty sick because back then something like that wasn't as expected or crazy, but having Taker show up on Dibiase's team was great.

Jericho. When a debut makes you one of the most over guys in the roster. You know that its awesome. Something the WWE is lacking these days.

Does anybody think that without another Major player in Pro Wrestling where guys can jump ship that we will ever see a huge debut again? Nowadays when there's a debut the crowd is dead silent because nobody knows who the hell the new guy is.

Semi-relevant answer but when ECW 'debuted' in 2005 before the One Night Stand PPV, that was sick.
Normal debut, I'd say Kane. It perfectly established him exactly as they wanted to. He had the Undertaker's name to ensure he'd instantly be taken seriously, he then wrecked shit up and looked like an absolute monster. Show's with the cage thing was similar too. |

Rick Rude had a couple of pretty awesome debuts in WCW. I believe up until the last Nitro, he was the only person to appear on both flagship shows in the same night. |

Fuck man, that Tazz debut video.
LISTEN to the crowd, the 'We want Tazz' chants, then an unbelievable pop as his music hits, and then the ECW chants. And this was before internet was super-popular/Tazz wouldn't have even been a household name. Fuck, I miss the crowds of the attitude era. Difference maker is an understatement, in my opinion anyway. |
