Russell Crowe does not have that much rep yet (10+)
My brother, who thinks wrestling is the gayest thing ever, told me that Shane was buying WCW nearly 2 weeks before it happened. I remember because I watched the wrong Nitro and my mother saw David Flair being held hostage by Kevin Nash and thought it was a huge rip off of when Undertaker kidnapped Shane 2 years before.

Anyway rambling, forgot my point.

Oh yeah, so if a non-wrestling fan knew about it, the "internet fans" must have.

Obviously the internet fans knew about it.

It does mean something that non-wrestling fans knew it, and it means something that the mainstream press covered it before the fact too.

It kills the notion of the surprise being ruined by wrestling reporters, as CNN doesn't keep many of them on tap. Nor does MSNBC. It was news on business and entertainment news...

I may tackle that other post later, if I feel like I have the time to kill...BUT as for it being on "other sites" and in business reports, that's fine, but it doesn't change the fact that it would have been a WAY bigger mark-out moment had NO ONE known about it.

Yes Pepsi Man, if no one else knew about the biggest merge in the industry's history... If only a multi-million dollar merge could of been hushed... If only monkeys flew out of my ass... Now why don't you go kiss up to Mayor McCheese and then to back to the bushes like a good little fry kid.

To you, perhaps.

I don't really see it as that much of a difference.

Look at it this way: Do you ever watch movies on DVD/VHA/Cable/Llamagram? You ever get excited over a scene you've seen before, and know is going to happen?

Quality events don't need to be a surprise to be majorly exciting, and this is why there are wrestling tapes and DVDs out there.

Not nearly as much as when I see it the first time, and even then, if it's too predictable, I don't get the rush from it. Your point's a good one though.

Whatever. Resort to petty insults if you must, but I'll stick to attempting to discuss my viewpoints like a rational adult.

Well, there's a lot of wrestlingin general that's predictable.

Id predictability is an issue, you definitely don't need the internet to ruin your enjoyment.

Especially if you apply common sense: Pick what the fans would like to see, and go as far from it as is feasible.

Example: 3 months ago, Vince was wondering what the fans would enjoy seeing...TGhe answer was Rey Mysterio and Ultimo duke it out for the CW title on PPV. As a result, he booked 58 Tajiri v. Knoble matches.

Holier than thou...

How was his viewpoint in any way holier than thou?

I seem to note he wasn't the one calling someone a fryboy...

There are still those key moments that you just have no way of knowing are going to happen. Also, are you sure it was only 58?

No, no he didn't. Up until 6 days before Shane McMahon was on TV "buying" WCW, absolutely everyone thought WCW was being sold to Fuisent Media headed by Eric Bischoff.
