Michael Ryder is on fire. Same goes for the rest of the rookies in Montreal. This is a huge change from previous draft picks like Hossa, Hainsey and such.

Went to the Sens home opener. Good times all around 5-0 win, Chris Neil of all people had a 2 goal game, Havlat had a beautiful shorthanded goal (he was flying tonight he had at least 4 or 5 shorthanded breakaways during the game. Furthermore I might end up getting tickets right up near the glass (row B) for the Sens/Pens game Feb 6th and the Sens/Florida game Nov 17th and seats just a little higher up for the Sens/Leafs game Dec 17th (Row H). On top of that I'm going to 5 more games as well, Sens vs Carolina Nov 15th, and then TB, Montreal and Boston at various points next year.

Great year for hockey thus far.

Canucks got worked pretty much all night by the oils. Most impressed by Markennan. If he can play half as good vs everyone else as he did the canucks, he'd gonna do great.

2nd draft priority in the 2nd leauge and I miss out on Ovechkin

Wadding you could have had him in the 1st leauge too, but only after he realized he dropped the ball there did he pick up Ovechkin in the 2nd leauge

I got him in two of the three leagues. The other league, well... there are a lot of players available that I can pick up.

Even though the Canucks lost last night to the Oil in a shoot out, I still like this shoot out idea. The only thing I would have liked the NHL to do was have it out of 5 shots, not 3.

Perhaps.
That's not the point though. I just mean 3 shots is too quick. 5 shots gives a team a better chance to get back into the shootout. Afterall this is to determine the winner after 65 minutes of hockey.

yeah, but not all teams will have 5 players that can do good on a shootout. The main reason they're doing this is for the "wow" factor. The loosing team still gets 1 point.

I dunno, I think 3 is fine.

I can see teams adding players to their roster for the shoot out. I'm sure you'd want someone that can play the entire game, but where else can one player be so decisive. Shootout specialists.

well if they got speed and stickhandling capabilities, chances are you're going to play these shootout specialists during regulation as well

if by 3 shots, they go into a sudden death mode, and thats more exciting than 5 turn for turn IMO

Not going to lie, I haven't seen much hockey at all yet, I feel like I am already behind after like one week. I don't get OLN and I don't think any Blue's games have been on yet, but my take so far is that there is a lot of parity. Not in a bad way, but it just seems like any team can beat any team on a given night now.

I need to get back into the groove, I'm not used to checking hockey scores etc.

I didn't get the waivers on pretty much all the good players I wanted.

But Luongo is doing incredibly well, so my team is still doing great.
