I thought the Patriots might interested in Law, but hes still asking for a lot of money so its doubtful. I figured he would have been happy taking a ton of money one year, then going back to a winning team for a little bit of a pay cut.

Nah I like him. I'd really like to see him back and play for the Patriots. He didn't burn any bridges or anything when he left, so theres still a chance I guess. I just heard hes asking for 10 mil up front, then 7 mil a year. Or maybe the other way around but either way its a lot of money for a cornerback, especially in the NFL now. Cornerbacks arent as valueable because they don't shit to the WR without getting a flag.

My point is, he was a nickel back at best in 05, but got lots of picks despite being horrible in coverage. He'd be great in a cover 2 defense I would imagine, but if he's showing his age, it's time he stopped trying to "man up."

Getting 10 picks on a lottery team despite giving up lots of TDs means dick.

He was way over his playing weight last season too though. I think it was because he didn't really get train in the offseason due to his injuried foot. I know he didn't play very well, but he couldn't have been THAT horrible if he had 10 picks and made the Probowl. Sure he wasn't his oldself, but its not like he was playing like Duane Starks out there or something.

Just curious where you read about Shaun Rogers? I was looking around trying to find it with no luck. Did he have an incentive in his contract that he didn't meet?

Random Giants news:

-Brent Alexander retired, which kind of sucks considering he was the Giants' leader in pickoffs in 05...hopefully Shaun Williams can go back to old form in '06.

-Jeff Feagles is mulling retirement, but the Giants really want him to stay and they are considering letting Feagles skip practice to spend time with his family in Arizona during the week.

-Barrett Green and Jason Whittle were also released. Green was a waste of money...and Whittle isn't a huge loss, though his versatility made him a great backup option on the O-Line.

-I would not be shocked at all to see the Giants take a run at Ty Law. I'd gladly take him now that Clements was tagged.

-The team is working on a long term deal with WR/special teamer David Tyree. He's a very valuable asset.

-One last bit of news, apparently the Giants had a long talk with some guy named Ngata who is entering the draft. He is a DT and is like 335 pounds or something. Huge guy who can clog up the line...though I don't know much about him and picking a DT with the #1 pick doesn't seem like the best idea after William Joseph in 2003

Don't want Ngata, in fact don't want any change to the defensive line at all. Don't need to say anything about DE, everyone knows the situation there, but I think William Joseph can "live up to the hype" I guess and Kendrick Clancy is a really good run stuffer at DT. The options for a situation when Clancy isn't needed are Fred Robbins and KenDerick Allen, so no upgrade needed, really.

I think Maurice Drew , if he's still there, will be the first round selection for the Colts. I doubt they're keeping Edge and this draft is pretty deep in Rb's. I'd love to see them get Lendale White, but he isnt dropping. They'd have to trade up.

Tight ends are some of the most athletic dudes on the planet, big ass motherfuckers that can run.

The thing about Carpenter is, there is 8 linebackers that could go first or second round. Its just gonna be perference over who wants who. Patriots will definetely be picking up a high quality linebacker in the 2nd round eitherway. I'd like to see Carpenter, but anyone from that list of 8 would be fine with me.

yeah there's a lot of LBs but besides Hawk and maybe that Greenway guy from Iowa I'd say he's the best. The only thing holding him back is the fact that he got overshadowed by Hawk the whole time he was at OSU.

AJ Nicholson? Ernie Sims? DeMarco Ryans? Abdul Hodge? D'well Jackson? Not saying all those guys are way better then him, but CBSSportsline has him ranked as the 7th best LB in the 2006 draft.

There's Thomas Howard (he's ranked ahead of Carpenter on CBSSportsline) too, he wasn't that popular during the season but he had a strong week during the Senior Bowl and he ran a 4.4 at the combine.

So it should be interesting to see what happens.
