I've only postured up once and I KO'd Lyoto with 2 shots, went for it as soon as I got mount. You have to keep hold of left or right on the left stick whilst throwing shots. Won't work if the guy on bottom has his arms around your guys head though, which tends to be most of the time from mount

So I've decided to join in on the fun with you guys and I'll probably goozex it when it comes out. Someone explain the basics to me. I'm doing fairly well striking. On Beginner. When the cpu grapples me and forces me against the cage, I can never escape. Ever. How do I do submissions? Need help understanding how to grapple.

Also, how many fights should go the distance in the course of playing this game? Had a lot of KOs in the first round. On beginner, mind you.

click the right stick to go into a submission, then 'shine' to get them to submit (assume they have low stamina). LT aims for the legs, LB goes for the head when striking. Transitions are done in half circle and quarter circle motions, so when the cpu grapples you, you have to do either these minor transitions (quarter) or major (half) to jockey for proper position.

hold LT and push forward on the right stick to shoot in for a takedown, and during the struggle you must also 'shine'.

the speed of it isnt as important as the accuracy of doing a complete circle, always remember that.

that depends on the difficulty of the opponent. On expert matches tend to go the distance in 3 round fights, and usually 4th or 5th round you get a KO or Sub (if you pace yourself correctly) in championship fights.

So I won a tournament on experienced and I guess I should bump it up one more notch. Still not comfortable when I'm against the cage or if I have my opponent against it.

Should we join that "community" and start our own "clan" or whatever?

The big problem I see is that the used-game business is also a business, so once the consumer gets wind that every game seems to need $5-$10 to play online, then the stores drop their prices for the trade-ins to compensate as they'll have to start selling the used game cheaper.

Less trade-in value = less new games sold.

I just bought it today from Gamestop without pre-ordering it, and the code for the extra guys was in there.

Anyway, just played an exhibition with my girlfriend. We both did random. I ended up with Kimbo Slice, and she got Cain Velasquez. She KOed me in the second round with a well placed elbow

That was her first time ever playing, too.

That blows. I would be pretty pissed. Probably won't even help to take the game back up there and tell them it doesn't work if they're like my local game stop they'll just claim you already used it or gave the code to a friend.

Probably be picking this up sometime next week, but look forward to hearing about some of the new features, and how the career mode pans out.
