Doesn't seem like this week's RAW really did anything special to help sell the ppv this Sunday but wasn't really horrible either overall.
Laurinaitis could easily subdue Cena if he used the same logic he did against the Big Show but WWE logic doesn't like to work the same way as real world logic. |

Really? I thought the did a spectacular job of selling the PPV. The other matches, not so much but the Cena-Laurinaitis match at least got sold really well with the whole new stipulations intrigue.

I have consistently enjoyed Cena for a long while now.... tonight is the first time in a long time that I have found him completely terrible and unwatchable.

It's still kinda weird how weak the build for everything else has been. Even Bryan and Punk, storyline-wise, has absolutely zero interest for me. No heat whatsoever.

And yeah, obvious that Big Show is gonna interfere at Over The Limit. Get his job back and be a corporate heel/badass loner submission machine.

He tries too hard sometimes and it comes off as awkward. Crowd seemed to be enjoying it though, oddly enough.

Just got back from the show.
Some Live Notes Dunno how came off on TV but crowd was into really about everything. Daniel Bryan was the third most over behind Cena and Orton and right on par with Punk. I literally saw dozens and dozens of the typical Cena fan kids chanting Yeses. He's come along way since the last show I went to he was on Superstars tagging with Gail Kim. A TON of Yes chants and signs. Yes chant for every move he did in Tag Match. Loved every second. Crowd was really into that match. Shocked Tensai was in a Superstars Match and not on Raw at all. He did come back out for a Dark match 6 man tag but was surprised by this. Also surprised Ryder was in a Dark Match. Dean Ambrose was really entertaining I thought both in the ring and on the mic before the match against Zack. From reading the comments in this thread the last segment wasn't received well through TV but it actually came off pretty good Live. I could see the Pittsburgh references falling on deaf ears on TV but it worked Live. Cena also worked the dark match 6 man tag. The Big Show segment went on WAY too long live. The firing was a bit of a surprise but I'm thinking he's either just taking time off for a while or just going to come back after Johnny loses at PPV. Dolph sells like a Mother F'er, even in a Dark Match. Overall a great evening. I'm sure will be adding more as I think of it in the morning but those are my thoughts off the top of my head right now. Top Face Pops: 1.Cena 2. Orton 3. Bryan/Punk Top Heat: 1. Big Johnny 2. Vicki 3. Jericho/Heyman |

The crowd came across dead for the most part except for the YES chants and the hometown cheap pops.
I feel like the storylines are solid, especially Heyman/Lesnar vs. HHH. Looking forward to both title matches, but the last two weeks of Raw have been completely forgettable. |

Big Show runs in at the Johnny/John and WMD or chokeslams John Cena. Ace wins the match. Big Show gets re-hired and feuds with Cena for a little bit....again. It's about time the Big Show turns back into a monster-heel/enforcer for Big Johnny.

Since we're having fun talking about logic.
Technically, Show wouldn't need to help Laurinaitis win as realistically, if Laurinaitis lost and got fired, surely Show would be re-hired. |

WWE likes to do things for the sole purpose of swerving the crowd. I wouldn't be surprised if Show comes out and Laurinaitis tells him to take out Cena if he wants his job back and Show ends up giving Laurinaitis a WMD.
Afterwards, Lesnar can come out and cost Cena. |

Maybe but it would depend on who became the GM after Big Johnny. I still say it goes down that way.
If there is a vacancy after the ppv: Brock Lesnar gets back into the WWE with the proviso that the GM of Raw and Smackdown is.....Paul Heyman. |

See, they need to get Brock Lesnar back into the WWE some way. It would kind of make sense for Heyman to become the General Manager (since he can talk) and bring Brock back. Big Show could cost Laurinaitis the match to get us there.

That would be awesome. Heyman cuts a deal with HHH to become GM in exchange for dropping the law suit and gets a provision that HHH can not interfere with his GM duties unless he can beat Brock Lesnar.

Heyman cutting a deal with hhh would be good. They get big show to interfere at otl and cost Johnny ace the match and heyman is the GM with Brock and Big Show on his side. Would be interesting. I'm tired of the current direction they're giving the big show. Sucks.

Really like Brodus, but come on, did they have to extend the entrance of all things to do with the character?

Technically, Show wouldn't need to help Laurinaitis win as realistically he's fighting John Cena, who has proven he can beat multiple men by himself and is a superhero.

Another live report from the Front Page and it is pretty spot on.
Superstars matches were Heath Slater vs Alex Riley and Lord Tensai vs Tyson Kidd Some side notes for you…the YES chants were off the charts outside and inside the arena while the crowd was filing in. The crowd was really hot for the dark match and Superstars taping. We tailed off some during the HHH promo, but the place went nuts again for the Punk/Santino vs. Bryan/Rhodes match. Bryan was over beyond belief. Then the trouble started and WWE booking was the cause. The Divas match drew absolutely NO response from the crowd. Then there was an extremely long wait before the next match due to promos or whatever what was being shown on TV. Kane vs. Big Show had very little crowd reaction until the begging and firing bit between Show and Johnny L. The crowd really bought into the Big Show’s performance and gave him a very nice “Thank you, Big Show” chant. The six man tag drew little reaction. There was a standing ovation for the National Guard commercial shown to the arena and huge USA chant. Orton vs. Jericho pretty much left the crowd confused to as to who they wanted to cheer…so they pretty much sat there. A Y2J chant broke out for awhile. That was actually pretty interesting considering the amount of children in attendance. I think the most amazing part of the show might have been John Cena of all people breaking the crowd out of its coma. He had us in the palm of his hand for whatever reason. We had no idea when the show ended. People started leaving quickly and kept filing out during the Punk/Jericho and six man main event dark matches. It seemed as if nobody knew they were scheduled. Overall, a disappointing show leading into a PPV and way to much sitting around for a hot crowd that wanted to be heard and weren’t given any chances. WWE booking dropped the ball big time after having horrible crowd reactions the last few weeks. The people were willing, but the WWE wasn’t able. People were also willing to buy the latest CM Punk shirt and they ran out of children’s and most of the adult sizes before Raw even went on the air. WWE really needs to get their act together and judge their live crowds better. They really seem to be out of the loop of what we want. They need to take a lesson from TNA of all people. Tons of YES chants outside the arena after the show. |

The opening segment drew a 2.91. Bryan and Punk are just killing the company.

It's included in that quarter. Heyman/HHH probably scored a 4.0 and Punk and Bryan brought it down with their 1.5

HHH/Heyman took well over 20 minutes including all the replays. No way Punk/Bryan featured in this. The reason for the poor rating overall I would attribute to the insanely long promo segments. Once the detailed quarter ratings are up, we shall find out for sure.
