So some guy has managed to come across a special edition of WWE 2K14 that hasn't been announced yet, by slightly changing the URL of this image from WWEShop.com.



Instead of the URL having "W05623.jpg" at the end, he changed it to "W05621.jpg" (Xbox 360) and also "W05622.jpg" (PS3) and he got these images....

I also don't think they'll get Kid Rocks American Badass because that exact attire was his default in No Mercy and it didn't have it either.

That was a rushed model, though, like Jericho in the first Smackdown. It's easier to throw a model together than set-up a licensing deal, I imagine. And this is when games were still this geeky thing and nobody but Tony Hawk Pro Skater and several racing games could land commercial music.

Things are different now, but I still have my doubts the Kid Rock theme will be used here. Of course, as Ace said the WWE mix should be online for people to use as custom soundtracks anyway. I was just musing.

I wonder what the "hook" is for this year. The Attitude Era mode was awesome. I'd love it if they finished where WWE '13 left off and do all the major storylines from post WM15 to WM17. Corporate Ministry FTW.

I feel like if they were going to do Attitude Era 2.0, it would have been announced a while ago. I also feel like it'd be really hard to pull it off without working out a deal with TNA to get Kurt Angle into the game, since he was a focal point to a lot of storylines at that time.

This year just seems to be legends from all across the board as you have Savage, Warrior, Austin, HBK, Badass Taker, etc. plus guys rumored like Sammartino, Flair, Andre, and even Goldberg. There was some thought that the game would have a "Golden Era" theme but that'd feel weird without Hogan.

I hope it has a good storyline mode in some shape or form. I never really cared for universe mode other than the clusterfucks.

Last year, I just went balls out with the Attitude Era. Deactivated every single current guy in Universe and filled up all 50 CAW slots with more Attitude Era guys. Had pretty much anybody of importance between late 1997-WM 17.

Between the people already in game, DLC, and CAWs I had like 60 people on both the Raw is War and WWF SmackDown rosters.

Even then I still got bored, because Universe just keeps booking the same fucking matches over and over again and you're not allowed to change anything if you want to actually get a storyline. Not once in the entire time I've had the game did I get a branching storyline.

Universe as a concept has so much potential but THQ just can't get it right. And I don't have much faith it'll be considerably better in WWE 14 either. It might officially be labeled a 2k game but for all intents and purposes this is still a THQ game this year. Maybe next year we'll get an overhaul, but I'm still skeptical as it sounds like the same people are going to remain in charge.

Last year was going to be my first year in a while not getting the game but I caved a week in. This year I need to have more will power and at least wait for a price drop. Feel like I've thrown $60 down the drain way too much in the past few years.

Give me the tools in Universe mode I had in Smackdown 2007, where I could send John Cena off to shoot a fuckin' movie to get rid of him, and book promos / backstage story vignittes during match cards and have HEEL turns when I choose!

Or, in realistic terms, just give me the same game again and I'll be a sucker and keep buying it.

I'm basically buying this for the roster update. Anything else is just gravy. Somebody is getting a Black Out if the Shield gets included.

Also don't confuse GM and Universe Modes. Don't think GM mode is ever coming back because of the lack of a split brand.
