Had they not used the celebrity spot on Arnold this year, Conor would have been a great fit and save the Warrior Award for a crew/ref inductee like Jim Johnston.
Although Mania being in California this year made sense for why Arnold got picked. |

Was thinking that myself. But obviously, since Reigns is SO FUCKING OVER with the crowd it only makes sense by rules of WWE Logic to have him in the main event.

But the crowd went nuts when the DONG hit and we saw the flaming chair, the voice over and then the video message. Surely that should have been the way to end Raw with the first sign/reaction from the Undertaker on WWE TV in nearly a year rather than Randy Orton put someone through a table for the one millionth time in his career.

Had to watch the west coast airing of Raw on account of traffic being shit, so here's some thoughts on THE ROAD TO RASSLEMANIA.
It’s great to see Randy Orton show some personality and get in some sick burns. Just let the Dkembe Motumbo reference go, Cole. Let’s not spend 90 seconds of a match swinging your dicks around about whether something is “current” or not. Daniel Bryan went from beating three of the biggest names in the modern era in a single night at Wrestlemania to getting knocked out after a match—twice—by a glorified jobber who can’t even keep track of his own title and couldn’t buy a win if he won the lotto. I don’t think that’s a Miz-level freefall but it is bullshit. Standard “PAUL HEYMAN IS THE GREATEST MAN IN WRESTLING” comment here. I don’t’ care if this whole Brock gone rogue scenario is a work, a shoot, or a little of column A and a little of column B, because they’ve found probably the only fucking thing on earth that could make me invested in the main event—whether they lucked into it or someone in that organization is a lot smarter than I’ve given them credit for. It definitely feels like a work now, but like I said, don’t care, it at least gives me something to sink my teeth into other than “PLEASE LOVE ROMAN REIGNS. PLEASE.” Really wonder how many families have had to have awkward discussions with that kid demographic WWE’s aiming for as a result of the Miz ED commercial angle. Not sure that a ten minute musical performance by some guy most of the hometown crowd doesn’t care a whole lot about is a good use of time a few weeks away from Wrestlemania, but if it saves us from having another performance in the middle of Mania, great. Also, the shows of the crowd just standing there staring blankly was great. A little bewildering that Brie tried to use “Yabba. Dabba. Doo.” as an intimidating closing line, but hey. Not sure how John Cena is the face here when he puts his foe in a submission hold, ignores the referees, wakes him up, resumes the hold, basically torturing him until his manager gives in to his demands, and that was a really heelish sneer he gave to the camera. This is some weird-ass booking. That Bray Wyatt segment was fucking great, and like a few others said, absolutely should have closed the show, and probably would have in an era where the powers that be had the ability to let anything other than the one anointed angle breathe and matter. It’s good to see that with medication and treatment Randy Orton’s Intermittent Explosive Disorder has become Three-Week Delay Explosive Disorder. |

Kane and Big Show are really good at their jobs. Their jobs lately have been awful but they do a good job.
Crowd seems way more into the idea of Orton turning on the authority than they should be. He has seemed like a way too forgiving pussy for the past few weeks. I'm not sure why he would be biding his time. He's had perfect opportunities to get revenge. lol Rollins' Big Show joke would have been better if he didn't get weird about if afterward. Orton telling it like it is now. No joke. HAH! Rides at Disneyland. Fucking love Orton. This is just making me sad that Seth Rollins is a sure thing to win at WrestleMania and he's just... not as good as Orton in any way. He's just the young guy. And WWE is desperate for a young guy to take over. Bleh. |

Watched the Sting vignette from Raw. Definitely think it's his voice. Feels like it was his cadence, masked by a voice changer, like in the show Arrow. Wish it wasn't. But it was a cool video package, and the talk of a broken authority being Sting's reasoning behind targeting H gives the storyline some depth.

Why are they still only teasing Bryan being in the IC Title ladder match instead of putting him into it? Seems weird. Like they wanna tease that he might be involved in something bigger.
No secondary world title means they could do awesome things with the IC Title. Make it the new "World Heavyweight Championship". It was weird when they were trying to push Bryan as the man but I feel like even the more smark-ish crowd would love Bryan as IC champ if the IC Title was a big deal. It seems pretty simple. No one was bitching when Benoit and Jericho were feuding over the IC title just because it was "the secondary title". People knew what it meant. Do that now with guys like Ziggler and Bryan and Ambrose and Rollins and such and you please everyone. |

Wait, Stardust has the IC Title now? I missed that part.
R-Truth is more talented than the jobber status he's had for entirely too long now. I like how JBL mentioned Stardust is the man who brought back the classic white IC Title and said he'd be the man who would bring it back to prominence. "And now he's got it around his waist again. Let's see if he can make it happen." ... So we're just openly acknowledging that the IC title hasn't been relevant in the past 5 years, I guess. It would be kinda funny if Stardust ended up in the IC Title match and Goldust ended up in the battle royal. Even the year that they actually start a feud in the month leading up to WrestleMania, WWE says "NAH!". |

lol JBL being a snitch.
Surely R-Truth took the title out of that sack. lol I enjoy this storyline. It's incredibly silly but at least someone's putting some effort into building a story. Hey, Connor. I kinda hope they show the moment when he told AJ to stop being crazy. Because that would be a hilariously inappropriate chance for WWE to remind AJ that she's crazy. Oh, they did... and they subtitled it for some reason. And in all caps. And immediately after Stephanie talked. lol Connor's dad should definitely complain online about Drew Carey cheapening his son's induction by being in the hall of fame. |

I really REALLY don't want Roman Reigns to beat Brock Lesnar. If he does, I want him to turn heel and have Heyman choose him over Lesnar because the younger beast has more money in him than the older beast. Whatever happens, Paul Heyman needs to be behind the champion because he's... just the greatest. He gets it.

Bray Wyatt vs The Undertaker may be the only thing at WrestleMania I'm really looking forward to. Which is amazing since I figured once the streak was over, Taker's appeal at WrestleMania would be over as well. It's got that true future vs past feel though. Bray Wyatt is the best performer in the company at the moment. If anyone should get that moment of brushing elbows with a legend, it's him. He should get the win. I just hope they don't fuck it up by having him lose to a part timer in a couple months again and fuck over any momentum he may have developed.

I like how Bray Wyatt doesn't run away and act terrified when Taker does something creepy in front of his eyes. Instead he counters the creepiness by laughing like a crazy motherfucker. It fits his gimmick perfectly. WWE has suffered from an issue where they act like heels must be chicken shit because they're heels and it doesn't matter what their specific character says they should do. Wade Barrett being hyped up as a badass bare knuckle fighter for weeks before his return and then coming back and running away from fights is a good example. If they keep treating Wyatt the way they're treating him and don't fall into the typical "he must act this way because he's a heel" trap, they SHOULD have fucking gold on their hands.

Am I the only one who felt they were watching the first 10 minutes of the Orton/Rollins Mania match? Why was the payoff/revenge with a 5-month build shown on RAW just 20 nights before their match? Really doesn't make any sense to me on the surface.
Last night have Orton about to kill Rollins, J & J distract Orton, Rollins low blows and gets outta dodge. Instead, I feel like I just watched the biggest moment(s) of their Mania match. |

Can easily do without another distraction finish, Rusev losing his streak in that fashion would suck; you might as well put somebody over strong if you're going to do it, not by a fluke. The stock of the US Title would plummet on Axel, he's in a comedy gimmick right now (albeit a good one) that's getting him over with a certain section of the crowd, but putting the title on him (especially in that fashion) won't elevate him or the title (see his IC Title run). |

1. The way it was handled, only one person came out looking strong: Cena. At least in my scenario, Rusev came out of it with something as well. What they went with hurt Rusev more than what I did. 2. If you can't book a strong heel without him losing once in a while, especially in a flukey manner, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! Hell, have him destroy Axel on Smackdown in a backstage segment if you are worried about him keeping his heat. 3. It's a cliche. I'll admit that it's a cliche. But there's a reason why it's a cliche: IT WORKS! Would you rather watch a match because person A more or less tortured person B into making their valet take the match, making person B look like a complete bitch in the process. Or Person B, angry about Person A costing them something they worked hard to win and hold, calls them out to take out a level of revenge. 4. If John Cena is the big star we're supposed to believe that he is, this match shouldn't even NEED the US Title. This something that always gets me with WWE. They feel like Cena NEEDS to have some piece of hardware. And if he was as good as they claim, after 10 years, then he shouldn't. Besides, when/if Reigns starts to falter, they're going to need Cena ready to take the slack. 5. I think this is the most important thing right here: Curtis Axel of 2015 is much better than the Curtis Axel that won the IC title in 2013. Give him a shot where he goes through a couple of decent competitors. If he proves himself to be more than a flash in the pan, you could have a future star on your hands. If not, have him get beaten by Owens or Zayn or whoever is ready by then. |

It's more a case of the US Title needs Cena vs. Rusev than Cena vs. Rusev needs the US Title.
Being on the line in a high profile match - the most high profile match it's ever been defended in at Mania - should do wonders for the image of the belt. Doesn't really matter who wins; The US Title hasn't been defended at Mania for 8 years, so just having it on there will do wonders. If Cena wins, and they don't have the guy that takes it off him win it in a fluke, and lose every non-title match afterwards, they have the opportunity to elevate somebody there. Putting the title on Axel now means it gets demoted off the Mania card entirely at worst, or gets defended in a nothing match at best. |

I imagine Seth will reprimand J&J for not coming back out to help him. Could even see them get "fired" soon enough actually.
Random side note but it'd be kinda cool if they got to be in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Would be nice to give them a Mania payday after emerging as surprise weekly performers. |
