[QUOTE=Joey Slugs]Now that I have digital cable in my place, I can start watching FSC again.

With the new Premier League season starting soon, I'm looking for a team to root for (since FSC shows pretty much every match). It's too easy to pick up and root for Man U or Arsenal so I need to learn more about the up-and-coming middle of the league teams that could make some noise in the next few years.

I already have the Chicago Fire to root on and, being 20 mins from the new stadium, go and cheer on in person.

In FIFA '06, I've been playing as Man City, West Ham, or Fulham and I wonder how good they are in real life.

So I'm asking my friends from across the pond to help a US Hooligan out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Support Leeds. they are the best!

oh wait.... you wanted a premiership club

edit: we do have Eddie Lewis...YAY!

I agree, both good signings.

Kenton's a bit of a strange one but if we can offload Gerrbrand for a decent fee then it's a bit of money to play with and a replacement who's more suited to this league. Wolfsburg were interested before we got him and they've proved their idiocy by loaning out D'Alessandro, maybe they'll take him.

I'm quite worried Neill might end up at Barcelona, given the Australian assistant coach is going there as assistant manager.

Blackburn have signed Jason Roberts and Franny Jeffers. Neither will get near to what Bellamy got last season though, i'd wager.

Jason Roberts

He was down here on loan YEARS ago and when he went back to his club he started banging them in, same as Dean Sturridge.

Fabio Aurelio signing for Liverpool in the next few days, ANOTHER attacking left back.

- Reading have 'agreed a fee' with Wolves for Ki-Hyeon Seol. Moxey must be pissing himself.

-Apparently, the Juventus lawyer in the big scandal case has said that 'relegation to Serie B would be fair'. Now I know the relegation rumours have been around for a while but I always thought that somehow the clubs, especially Milan and Juve, would escape it.

WOW. I spent much of yesterday on Wikipedia studying how the English Football system works and the various cups etc. I had no idea that there were 21 levels of leagues! What does level 21 consist of? Because you would have to assume that even just an average adult league would be able to get higher than that!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English..._league_system

There are SOOO many leagues, all of which must at least have eight or so teams right? So does the whole country play at some level basically?

Nope. That's what is even better about it. Obviously you have guys like me who would pay to play this wonderful wonderful sport.

And you have people like my mate Paul "Biggles" Tomkins who didn't show up for football tonight because a friend of his girlfriend had tickets for a play. His email address will be posted later for all to express opinions at this man who tonight took a massive leap into the world of homosexuality.

In closing - Biggles is a big poof.

He's already fucked up for something he did ages ago, the more I look at signing him, the more I can't quite understand it.

We've been linked with Joaquin again, and I've read we're in for Trabelsi.....would be nice to sign a striker.

I want the board to look like they are going forward rather than sticking at the same level

Aurelio, Gonzalez and Bellamy are all good players, but they aren't great players. We need to show some intent and bring in someone who is going to get us 20-30 goals a season, that's going to be the differance between finishing in the Champions League places and challenging for the title.

Simple facts, until we start to bring in World Class players, we aren't going to win the title, as much as I want to believe we're capable of doing it.

£1m + another £500k if he meets appearance thresholds. I am quite literally giddy with joy

Now all we need is to not re-sign Kennedy, ship out some of the other dead wood, and bring in some young but talented players. I doubt we will get up this year but putting together a decent nucleus for the next couple years I will settle for - for far too long we've invested in 'name' players and with rare exceptions it's been a waste of time.

Expect the decision to be overturned shortly. FIFA is doing this as a scare tactic.

I thought that just meant he was finished with Ashley Cole.

So who exactly is the odd-man out at Chelsea now? Shevchenko basically replaced Eidur, but Eidur didn't start too often did he? Does this move Crespo back or what? Basically, with Ballack and Shevchenko in there, what does their lineup look like now?

I'd go with.

Cech

Ferriera (whatever its spelt like)
Terry
Gallas/Carvalho
Another Left Back/Del Horno

Makelele

Cole
Ballack
Lampard
Robben

Sheva/Drogba

But then thats just me guessing it'll almost certainly change every week.

It'll be interesting to see. But I don't think Lampard and Ballack will work very well together, and Sheva would be better with a partner upfront. But Jose is the special one, so what do i know

So we'll have to wait and see.

Cech

Ferreira
Terry
Carvalho (assuming Gallas leaves)
?

Makalele
Essien
Ballack

Robben
Cole
Sheva

If Juve go down I can see them spending a ridiculous amount on Zambrotta
