Could a TNA and WWE working agreement help both sides?

I've been thinking, one way to really spark interest in the business itself would be for WWE to silently sign an agreement with TNA.

Obviously this is completely hypothetical, because WWE would never even consider it, but I say have it start out with Shawn Superkicking Flair tonight. Have it built up on RAW that Michaels isn't there and that he's "taking care of some old business".

This one instance would be heard far and wide. A WWE contracted wrestler appearing on the competition. This would be similar to ECW showing up in the WWF, but the reverse (to start it). They would then start a storyline war, with talents showing up in both companies for a time.

This would give TNA a huge boost. But my question is, would it be worth it for WWE to do this? To start a TNA vs WWE war in the storylines? To risk everything, in the hopes of kick-starting a boom period?

I really think this could work. It's never been done on a large scale in the US. But again, WWE risks losing their viewers for the chance in building more interest in the product overall. Short term, this is a bad idea, no doubt. But long term I think it could benefit both companies.
