So, NXT is happening, right?
Who do you want to see as the Pros on the next season?
With Jack Swagger coaching Michael Cole, I think it would make perfect sense for him to be on the show, mentoring some other rookie, with Michael Cole also being involved heavily in the show -- either doing commentary for Swagger's matches, or in backstage segments with Swagger and the NXT rookie. I'd personally like to see Curt Hawkins given a chance to develop a character on the show, too. Pfft |

If only wrestlers can be the pros, i'd like Goldust, Jerry Lawler, Sheamus, Santino & Kozlov, William Regal, Edge, The Big Show and Wade Barrett as pros. Don't mind a returning Daniel Bryan, Miz, or Christian as well.
I'd like Cole as a pro. Perhaps to mentor Seth Rollins, if he does become part of NXT 5. |

They keep mentioning it will be NXT like you never seen before and haven't even revealed the contestants so it may well be the 2nd chance NXT that rumours kept telling about. I will be there live and so will let you guys know asap.

Is NXT still only on wwe.com or are they going to show it live too?

I wouldn't mind a second chance NXT thing, because it gives some of the earlier guys a chance to get back into things. Percy Watson, Lucky Cannon (with a new heel attitude and hopefully a new name), Conor O'Brian, Byron Saxton, Derrick Bateman, Jacob Novak (I think the guy's got potential, but he just needs to cut his hair and get some new attire), Titus O'Neil and Brodus Clay -- solid cast, if unspectacular.
They could even do an angle where the Pros of each of these guys would return, looking to redeem their failures. Of course, MVP would not be back for Watson, leaving him the wild card. That'd mean your Pro roster would be someone new, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler (getting a chance to earn his job back if Saxton wins), Daniel Bryan, Chris Masters, Zack Ryder and Alberto Del Rio. But I'd rather they just stick to the original formula -- I think it worked, it just needed refinement. Like lose the stupid challenges designed to make the guys look like jokes. Have the guy with the best win-loss record earn immunity each elimination. I think the WWE Pros should be a mix between established guys, and talent that isn't really being showcased on RAW or SmackDown!, thus giving them a chance to show off their personalities a bit more. With all things considered, I'd go with the following Pros: * Curt Hawkins * Jack Swagger * JTG * King Sheamus * Kofi Kingston * Santino Marella * The Great Khali * William Regal Curt Hawkins is so good in the ring, and could use the chance to really define what sort of character he is. Swagger and Cole being there would actually sort the storyline they have going, in my opinion. JTG is pretty over, can talk, can work -- he's just not in a position to really break out at the moment. NXT can at least give him a place to be entertaining. Sheamus doesn't really have too much going on at the moment, and is sort of out of big WrestleMania plans -- he'd add a main event level player to the proceedings, and it continues the "due paying" tour he seems to be taking after winning two WWE Championships. Kofi Kingston doesn't seem to have anything too big planned for WrestleMania, and he can work. They can also do a storyline where he and his rookie are at odds because of what happened with Michael McGillicutty -- joining the Nexus and all. Santino Marella would just be entertaining, and his relationship with his rookie would be...interesting. Do they take Marella seriously? Khali would add that "attraction" to the show, and he wouldn't need to work too hard. When he's not on the road with the WWE, Ranjin Singh can just pass on messages for the rookie. Regal is such a good worker and such a good talker that it's a waste not to use him. NXT doesn't give him too much of a push, but keeps him doing something. He was an obvious choice for the inaugural season of NXT, and it'd make perfect sense to bring him back. As for the rookies? The stand-out guys to call up, in my opinion would be following guys: 1. Abraham Washington with King Sheamus 2. Bo Rotundo with Jack Swagger 3. Damien Sandow with Curt Hawkins 4. Donny Marlow with Santino Marella 5. Jinder Mahal with The Great Khali 6. Richie Steamboat with Kofi Kingston 7. Seth Rollins with William Regal 8. Xavier Woods with JTG There are some other impressive guys in FCW, but I think some of them could use some time to develop a bit more. I left Brett DiBiase off this list, because I think he could benefit from coming in later. Peter Orlov is apparently training with Sin Cara, but I guess they could use him. He's still a sort of new signing, though, so can be used later. Can't blow all your "indie" guys in one go. I just paired them up pretty randomly, but you have a mix of guys that would fit well together, and guys that sort of clash. |

Chavo Guerrero
Drew McIntyre Evan Bourne Jack Swagger Kofi Kingston Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov William Regal Zack Ryder If there are only 6 rookies, I'd bump Bourne and Drew off. Mainly trying to pick guys that don't have much else going on and so would probably have no problems appearing on NXT the entire season. Don't like it when they use Pros who suddenly disappear because they have more important things happening. |

I think what would/could be awesome is Michael Cole on NXT...AS A ROOKIE. Cole can say, "U know all u lame asses lik Daniel Bryan, I can do better myself!". Then we get cole hilariously failing and getting himself beat up. It would make the season! Cole's Pro could be...Daniel Bryan, LOL!

The only problem with that is that it defeats the pay-off of Cole finally getting his at WrestleMania.

Cast spoilers ahoy.
From PWInsider: For those of you who want to watch NXT without seeing what the match results are, but are curious about the cast, NXT Season Five features: *Darren Young with Pro Chavo Guerrero. *Connor O'Brien with Pro Vladimir Kozlov. *Lucky Cannon with Pro Tyson Kidd. *Byron Saxton with Pro Yoshi Tatsu. *Jacob Novak with Pro JTG. *Titus O'Neil with Pro Hornswoggle. |

Why is a guy who has wrestled successfully on the Smackdown brand back on NXT? Darren Young has gotten his deal/contract.
Make it a win with Hornswoggle if you can Titus. Where the fuck is Showtime Percy Watson? Ohhh no!! |

Darren Young apparently losing his Raw roster spot is hilarious. From the main event of SummerSlam back to NXT!
Even funnier is that the grand prize for this season is - a spot on NXT Season 6. Gutsy move to already announce Season 6. But whoever wins will have had the dubious honor of being on 3 seasons. |

Seems like they're just doing this season to kill time until after Wrestlemania season. Once it's finished I can see half of the pros and rookies involved being future endevoured.

![]() The pro "quality" and rookie pairings on paper definitely make it appear as this will be the weakest season and WWE just using up the pre-Mania weeks until the better Tough Enough and NXT season 6 arrives. |

K, was considering watching at least the first episode, but after seeing that rookie/pro list looks like I will be sitting this one out.
Darren Young is still listed on the RAW roster right now, not sure what he is doing back on NXT. |

Almost makes sense since it's a 'second chance' type of schtick.

Wow, this season is either going to be awful, or hilarious. I'm loving Regal on commentary though.
INteresting to see that there will be as season 6, even w/ them doing Tough Enough. I guess they will keep both up. Also, Saxton is pretty much a shoe in here. |

NXT was ok this week considering the lack of hype by the WWE until the show started.
Commentary might end up being good now that they aren't constantly making fun of the rookies and the show. It provided a lot of comedic moments the previous seasons but also hurt the rookies more than it helped. ![]() |

Just came back from the tapings. NXT got a huge response, probably because of the dark match that aired with the NXT tron: Shelton Fucking Benjamin vs Curt Hawkins.
Crowd was mad hot for Darren Young and Hornswoggle. Tyson Kidd got a lot of cheap heat which sorta transferred to Lucky Cannon. Also: MARYSSSSSSSSSSSE ![]() Got some smashing shots of her legs n stuff. |
