Saw this article and thought it would make a decent topic.
Name the top five wrestlers who rarely, if ever, get recognition in top five lists. ![]() |

All-time I'd go with Scott Hall, when he was Razor Ramon.
When people think of Hall nowadays, they think of the drunk version we've seen make an ass of himself out in public, get arrested, go to rehab, etc...but back in the mid 90's, he was the wrestler that Vince and the WWE would use as the guy who'd work with whoever they were thinking of giving a main event push, to see if he could hang with Hall, and therefore, was worthy of said push. Hall never quite made it to the top, for whatever reason, but he was a solid worker who quite a few times found himself in feuds for the Intercontinental Championship that were more interesting and had more fanfare than those for the WWF title. Hall was the guy who "groomed" Kevin Nash, before he became a main eventer...he also groomed good ol' HBK...Jeff Jarrett also had his go with Hall, yet Vince decided not to give him the main event push...when Goldust came in, Hall was the guy who worked with him in a big time angle... ...so, Hall really is underrated, if you can believe so. |

Doink the Clown is the only one that springs to mind, but I'll think of some more eventually.

I'd say he does. Perfect, Rude, DiBiase are in my "top 5" and I feel I'm not alone when those kinds of threads pop up.

Scott Hall is one I can agree with, if we are talking top five. He made a fair bit of cash with the nWo, was a part of some legendary angles and such. The man could command attention on the stick and work. Ultimately, I think if Hall had kept a clean nose, that might have all changed for him. He might even still be working for the WWE and winning World Championships today.
I don't have much knowledge of wrestling's deep history, but I do agree with the original list. But I also think that Chris Jericho might get a bit of a snub on all-time lists. It depends on what you are grading, but all-round (unless we are talking drawing power), Jericho deserves a place on any list. But does he get it enough? |

dunno, Jericho is like 95% of the internet's favourite wrestler. At least until Punk took off.

I think he's one of our favourites, no doubt. And when he's active, he's treated like the best thing ever. But at the same time, I think when you put Jericho against the backdrop of history, he doesn't get included as much. Maybe it's because the dust hasn't settled with him just yet?

these are two that spring to mind immediately
Kerry Von Erich - sure he was fucked up alot of the times but when he was on he was on the man had more charisma then any wrestler I've seen in recent years the local Dallas fans loved the guy Nick Bockwinkel - fuck man even in his 50's this guy was churning out classics with Curt Hennig |

Steve Blackman (shame on all of you)
For serious though, the guy was in line for a super-push before a near career-ending injury put him on the sidelines. He enjoyed some mild success in the WWF, but can you imagine how much better he would have been in the role that La Parka Considering he was a fat guy in a skeleton costume, I always thought his matches were pretty amazing. He was also one of the funniest luchadores ever. Wrath/Adam Bomb/Bryan Clark An agile big-man who had a brief run as a sort of mid-card heel Goldberg (when I first saw him). Always thought he had potential as a main-eventer. Was much better than Goldberg. Sgt Slaughter My first favorite wrestler. Good on the mic', great in the ring. 'nuff said. Xpac He was always great in the ring, at times he was very effective on the mic as both a heel and a face. And then it got weird when he made a porno with Chyna...oh and xpac heat..blah blah blah |

Roddy Piper: Seems like he doesn't really get all the props he deserves cause of that ego-hog Hogan.
Lord Steven Regal: Had great matches with everybody in WCW back in the day before he changed his name. Disco Inferno: You know it. |

Man, Tajiri. That guy was a bad-ass. I have to admit guilt in laughing at some of the stupid antics they put him through, and wish it didn't happen like that. Guy could throw a kick that would wake up the entire building.
