Bringing back the Classic IC Title really made me like Cody Rhodes. And it's also nice the WWE is finally putting the spotlight back on what was, for some time, the Title that had the most interesting storylines.

I've been loving Cody for months now, but him revealing the old IC title just really solidified him to me, personally. I also love the idea of him being a fighting IC champion (even if they're "forced"). They're bringing a lot back to the IC title I feel with Cody as champion. It could just be a coincidence, or it could be that they're talking about combining the world titles again. If the latter, it makes sense that they start to make a lesser title important again.

Anyway, I digress. Cody is awesome. Despite his lanky build, which I always felt would hold him back, I feel that by Mania 29 he'll be a full-fledged main eventer. And it'll be awesome.

The only criticism I can say is that the mask gimmick needs to go by the end of the year. I feel its served its purpose, and they're only going to keep doing the angle where he "loses" it over and over. He's at the point where he doesn't need the mask from a storyline/push perspective. He could take it off and be exactly the same as he is now.

I've liked Cody ever since he moved over to Smackdown, and I noticed he could actually go in the ring. Then he began his whole Dashing thing, which showed he actually had charisma.

Then his whole Disfigured thing leading up to Mania was absolutely fantastic. I also honestly believe that he had the performance of the night (as well as match of the night) at Wrestlemania.

I feel like he has somewhat lost some steam though. I think the whole paper bag thing really would have been a gimmick to do when he was still Dashing. Feels kinda outta place.

Though he has been playing up less and less the fact that he is supposedly disfigured. He has removed his mask several times now, and isn't obsessed with hiding his face anymore.

I think the IC Title redesign is a good way to pick up his steam again. I think, though, that it is time for him to move past the mask and paper bags.

I've never had a problem with Cody's performances since his arrival, it's just that I have never been wowed by him. However, as of late he's really taken the WWE Universe by storm and has certainly grabbed my attention. I feel his recent action regarding the IC title will probably be what boosts him to a main event status in the near future.

I'm slightly on the fence with this comment, while it's true the notion of him needing a mask due to facial injury has run its course (especially when considering he's now purposely removing the mask in order to use it as a weapon) I don't feel the mask should be completely removed, but instead revamped: Given his recent promos and mannerism, I've taken to associating him on a behavioral level with the character Vega from Street Fighter, it's not too far of a stretch to see the connections between the two. I think it would be interesting if instead of simply doing away with the mask, he'd simply change it (much like he did with the IC title) to something a little more dashing. It could be seen as the icing of his beautiful evolution.

Heh, if I had one complaint about Cody (and this could very well be the gamer in me talking) it would be my disappoint in not seeing those triforce boots anymore, those were cool.

There was no way Ted was going to go on and do anything just carrying on as a poor man's Million Dollar Man. Cody has had a stroke of luck with having his nose broken but he has taken the opportunity and run with it to the point that he is top up and coming heel in the business. Cody Rhodes seems like a sure thing. He's young, he can talk, he can work, and he's daddy's somebody. Also, I'm all for the lack of knee-pads and the mask. I get what people are saying, but for a heel, having a weapon with him in the ring makes perfect sense. Eventually, he can grow beyond it; but right now, I'm all for Rhodes still having the mask. Maybe have him remove it at WrestleMania next year, or something?

Cody is awesome. One of the absolute best in-ring on the WWE roster. I've been a big fan of all of his character evolutions. The only time I really wasn't into him was his debut as a face teaming with Bob Holly. I never thought he'd get over, but he proved me completely wrong.

I like how Cody still uses the Alabama Slam. Taking something away from his old partnerships.
