Jacob Volkmann and Mike Russow have the same reputation. Santiago went 0-2 in the UFC, left and won one fight, then lost again over the weekend. After putting together an impressive run in the UFC, Grispi lost four fights in a row in the UFC.
Every one of the fighters is coming off of at least one loss. In the past, a fighter would worry about his job if he lost two fights in a row. However, MMA Junkie's John Morgan says the UFC is looking to trim its roster. With fighters coming over from Strikeforce, and the addition of the men's flyweight and women's bantamweight divisions, the UFC is going to have to make more tough decisions like this. Fighters have to win to keep their job.
I thought Fitch and Vlad would be around forever.

We talked about this in the 999k thread but yeah alot of quality names on that list..

Crazy to think how good Fitch was up until the Hendricks KO.. Before that, in the UFC his only non-wins were a decision loss to GSP in a title fight and a draw with BJ Penn.. IMO he showed an amazing ground game against Maia.. Alot of lesser fighters would have gotten choked out like a minute into it and he lasted all 15.. Just shows you, fighters have to be entertaining, not just good.. People want bangers not grinders..

All these dudes will end up in Bellator anyway, so really it's good for MMA in general.. UFC clears up roster space while Bellator gets some big named fighters..
