Half Life.

I just bought Half Life Game Of The Year Edition. I'm having a problem with it, someone please help me.

I go into Internet and then Multiplayer. I updated the new patch and when I go to the games and click refresh....no games show up. I also cannot go to quick start because it just will not log in. I go to the All Seeing Eye and attempt to join a game that way, and it finally goes but there is and error that reads...

Could Not get IPX socket name. IPX disabled.
Reason: WsaenOTSOCK

...OK. I even go to the Half Life site to try to download the patch and it tells me to check my internet connection. Does anyone have any idea on how I can fix this? It would be a great help, I would really appreciate it, thanks.
