Anyone use DSL connections?
I've got cable now, and turns out that AOL Cable doesn't support PS2 online (Just bought a network adapter), but AOL DSL does. Are there any connectivity problems with DSL? How are the speeds compared to cable?

DSL has slower speeds compared to cable.
If you have cable now you should be getting a provider through your cable company. I've not heard anything on AOL Cable, just their DSL service, but you should be getting internet service without the need of AOL. May be a long shot, but do you get service without having to be on AOL? |

Well, technically it is through the local cable provider. Time Warner (one of the three who offer internet) HOWEVER, they have a partnership with AOL

Well you should be able to set it up then. Just don't worry about AOL at all when you go through the set up disc. Try and do it automatically and if that doesn't work try setting it up manually. To get the info just go to "Network Connections" and find your connection. Right click, go to Status, go to Support tab, there's the info you need.
If that doesn't work, you might need a router. I had the same problem with mine and a router fixes it just fine. You have the best of the connections for gaming right now and it would be a lot cheaper just getting a router. Post any errors or anything you get if those steps don't work, maybe that could help too. |
