DISCUSSION - Is Kane the WWE's MVP?

Lets look at the evidence in the last 12 - 13 months or so...

He has been able to do more than anyone else on the Roster on Raw or Smackdown during this period. He's been in the most feuds, Played the jobber and title contender. It seems he can turn his hand to anything.

About a year ago, he was coming to the end of a feud with Shane Mcmahon, which incidentally was the best feud of the year. His in ring work was solid as were the promo's, and He played his character perfectly.

He then joined Vince Mcmahon in Burying his brother, The Undertaker.

He then went on to become a title contender, eventually helping HHH regain the title from Goldberg.

Then he made a guest appearance on Smackdown, The only guy to appear on both shows aside from the night of the draft lottery for quite some time.

He and The Undertaker were involved in the biggest angle going into the biggest live wrestling event the world has ever seen at Wrestlmania XX. And no-one is going to be telling me he wasn't classic how he played that whole thing off. Czech out his reaction as he reaches out to touch Taker.

He did us all a favour by ending the HHH/HBK feud by obliterating HBK, thus planting the seeds for a new feud.

He tried to help Edge get over on his return by jobbing to him at Backlash 04

He's carried the Love Triangle saga from start to finish, all the while being in contention for the title again against Benoit. He helped the WWE through a time they needed a contender for the title who wouldn't let his ego step on Benoit. and was still able to carry the Matt/Lita thing convincingly throughout.

So the question I put to you is, am I right? Is Glenn Jacobs the WWE's MVP?

In a way, I'd like to think so. He's "homegrown," he's a big man, he's a good actor, his in ring skills aren't bad...he's funny, but he can cut a rather eery promo from time to time. If they'd just give him a little more intimidating of a role (more stomping, less jobbing)...he could be THE reason for watching RAW.

Glen Jacobs is one of the best workers WWE has ever had. He's just out there every night doing his job, and trying his best to entertain the fans which is what's most important. Kane has always been booked to have a soft, less intimidating side, but after he told Lita that she was his property in his vows he gained some fire back.

I wouldn't say Jacobs is necessarily WWE's MVP, but he is a true professional.

I'd have to give Jericho and Kane both MVP slots.

Both have shown up despite shitty angles and poor booking and entertained all of us, and still drawing a crowd reaction worthy of the top guys.

When I first started watching wrestling Kane became my favorite quickly. When I watched for a little bit and became a "smark" I started to think he is probably one of the most underrated wreslters the WWF/E has ever had.

I don't watch anymore so I can't really say anything on current events.

No he isn't. The Shane McMahon fued was not the fued of the year, in fact it was pretty terrible, Shane's fault not Kane's.

Kane doesn't draw a lick. What he does do is put 100% into everything he does. He;s single handedly made the marriage angle go from fucking sucks to just really sucks. I feel for the guy but he is hardly the WWE's more imprtant guy, he's not even in the top 10.

If he's not the most valuable, he's definitely the most useful. There really seems to be nothing he can't do, and who really has a negative thing to say about him?

BTW SirRound, you forgot to mention that he also was among the first vetarans to help put Eugene over.

Hey, value isn't measured by use. If you have a bar of gold that just sits under your bed for a year, it's still valuable. It's certainly no fault of his that he isn't being utilized to his full value.

Well if the value of gold drops in that year to next to nothing , then not really it isn't.

He's the MVP of horrible angles, btu I dont know if thats something to hand out praise over.

Kane couldn't possibly be the MVP of RAW, he doesn't have good matches, none of his TV segments go through the roof, and he hasn't healdined any PPVs. So it would be impossible to call him the MVP of anything. Might be a good team player, but thats about it.
