Guys that you were a fan of as a kid...
that you feel don't get the recognition they deserve. Not talking about guys like Dibiase, Roberts, or anyone like that; we all know they're legends.
I'll go first, Mike Rotundo. I've always been a huge mark for the I.R.S. character in general. Nevermind the fact that he was an incredible technical wrestler, and the fact that he could brawl; but damn IRS was greatness. One of the first heels (as a kid that is) I ever got behind (others include Michaels, Dibiase, and Roberts). The Write-Off looked good, even if it was one of the simplest moves ever. Varsity club was the shit (the first time around), Mike was just great. One of those guys who played his character to perfection.

I dont really think there was anyone that I was a fan of as a kid that didnt become big. The very first wrestler I became a fan of was Hogan and he is basically one of the biggest legends there is.

Demolition, straight up. Seeing them jobbing at WM 7 was terrible. They were WAY over at one point, I think WWF dropped the ball.

I liked Billy Gunn for some reason. Not just when he was a New Age Outlaw, but when he was a singles wrestler.
Rick Martel, Savio Vega and Chyna. Yes, Chyna. I enjoyed the women competing with men kind of gimmick, and she wasnt bad in ring wise. |

I always liked Vader in the WWF. I don't know why, but he was always a favorite of mine back in the day. Some people say he was better in WCW, I wouldn't know because I've never really seen any of his WCW stuff, but I did always like him in the WWF.
And who could forget about that lovable Max Mini!?

I didn't watch it as a kid.

Simple question...simple answer...Magnum TA, Tully Blanchard, Davey Boy Smith, and Brian Pillman. (Wow, kind of sad to think of all of my childhood heros as dying off)

I agree with HBK2K, The IRS character was great.
Others would be Tatanka, Crush, Nailz (don't ask) & Doink. Speaking of Doink, did it scare anyone else when doink did that mirror thing at Wrestlemania 9 against Crush?? I remember watching when I was about 6 & it scared the shit outta me. Sorry for going off topic

Virgil and Jim Dungan(I always spell his name wrong), those guys was not great in the ring but I was a fan of them because I like their characters.
Ahmed Johnson in 96 was probably the coolest wrestler WWE had at that time until they push Austin as a bad ass. I also was a fan of Savio Vega, the Fake Razor Ramon and Diesel(Kane), and the Headbangers. |
