Are they setting up Smackdown vs Raw?
No I dont' mean the video game, but from what I can tell, they may be starting a major smackdown vs raw storyline.
Royal rumble 5 raw guys aligned themself to face 5 smackdown guys, and JR and Tazz kept talking about how a raw/smackdown superstar would win. They even have Long and Bischoff starting a feud, especially with long on Raw. With JBL's promo, do you see a possible unification ala Vengeance 2001? Batista vs JBL for title (Batista wins) John Cena vs HHH for title (either win) Batista vs winner for undisputed title this probably wont happen but with Batista having potential to feud with Cena and/or JBL, and either be with or against HHH, it is a small possibility. Even still, we are going to see some form of a smackdown vs raw storyline at wrestlemania (or at least i can hope) think it'll end the brand split? Any other ideas as to what the hell they are trying to do? |

nah, they have no plans of ending the split and I wouldn't anyway. As much as I would like it to at times, they've invested a good amount of time in keeping the brands seperate , so why stop now? The Brand Split does bring up classic moments though like you mentioned with the Rumble and that's a major reason why I think they should keep it. I really love watching the Smackdown/Raw guys come together on those 4 PPV's and defending thier respective brands.

they won't ever be back as one unless serious competition begins once again with an outside fed.
As LC said, they have invested alot in the brand split, and it has not been a failure by any stretch of the imagination |

I like the brands separated because if it was unified...there's no way everyone could get all that TV time.

i dont think they'll end the brand split, that would be pretty stupid. However, a 2-3 month long smackdown vs raw war would raise the ratings. That'd be cool.

yeah they may not end the brand split
but think there will be at least some sort of smackdown vs raw storyline? Kurt vs HBK is already going to be hott and with the way the storyline is going, Batista's title shot could have something to do with smackdown seing batista on smackdown this week = ratings |

I agree with Loose Cannon. I myself have stated many many MANY times that the roster split should end (mainly out of frustration), but in the end.......the roster split is probably the best thing for the company. With that being said, there ARE a few things I would change: 1) One Undisputed World Champion appearing on both shows. It gives more meaning in being "World Champ". Double exposure of the World champ also allows the world champ to become even more over with the fans. This is especially helpful for a guy like Batista or Edge. 2) More 'interactive' PPV's. The WWE does a great job with the Royal Rumble in creating a competitive atmosphere between the two brands. I'd like to see this happen with some other PPV's. -Bring back King of The Ring. Have a tourney on both RAW and SD. The winners face one another at the KOTR PPV. -Have a classic Survivor Series match up. The top 5 stars from SD face off against the top 5 stars from RAW. Every year. |

Yea, I loved it when the Undisputed Champ appeared on both shows. That was gold and I still don't understand why they had to make another Title. Well I do understand why, because HHH wanted to be a champion. I would definately go back to the one champ, one title thing.

I don't understand the WWE's logic in getting rid of that as well. Back in 2002 (Summerslam) when Lesnar won the title from The Rock.....man oh MAN he would've been way the fuck 'over' IMO. If Lesnar had stayed heel, and been undisputed champ..........I seriously believe that there would've been another wrestling boom.....and ratings would have shot back up. Hate Triple H all you want for dominating RAW after that, but it's purely MANAGEMENT's fault (and Snitsky's of course ![]() |
