Hogan's WWF/E Legacy?

Since Hogan's going into the Hall of fame what will his legacy be.Will he go down as the man that put the WWF on the map or the man that nearly buried the company with his move to WCW? Opinions

WWF was still the #1 promotion when Hogan left, and he didn't help WCW a whole hell of a lot.

As for his legacy, he'll always go down as the guy who put WWF on the map in the 80's. No matter what you think of him he was one of the greatest draws of all time.

Well the WWE nearly went out of buisness due to the NWO fan base.Considering Hogan was the leader and he was never a heel he probably drew quite alot of fans

He's gonna go down for pretty much everything wrestling related from the 1980-2000. Just about every twist and turn the wrestling world took, Hogan was in the center of it all. From WWF's Hulkamania days and WMIII, to signing with a new company, to nWo, to the demise of WCW...and back to WWE. Amazing how everything practically went full circle when you think about it!

I guess out of all of them....he'll go down mostly for his famous work in the 80s.

I think he will go down as the man the made the WWE. Sure some people will say that the WWE was made by all the wrestlers and by Vince Sr. and JR but Hogan is what got the fans going in. Hogan is the reason WWE is as popular as it is today...or was at that time.

And possibly this should all not be considered because I am a huge Hogan mark since the day I was born....

I thought you were talking about the period right after Hogan left, because it took nearly 3 years after Hogan joined WCW for them to beat WWF. By 1997 Hogan didn't draw all the fans himself, it was a group effort, and the largest portion of that effort came from Sting.

STILL, Hogan will be remembered for his success in the 80's-early 90's more than anything else.

Hogan will go down as THE icon of wrestling, without a doubt!

as greendayz said, he has been involved in most of the major things in wrestling over the past 20 years (Hulkamania, WCW revival, NWO, NWO in WWE, WWE brand split). Probably the only big hting he was not involved in was DX/NOD/Corporation/ministry

He will go down in history for his Oscar calibur work in such great films as No Holds Barred, Santa With Muscles, and Mr. Nanny.

I think Hogan will be remembered as being pro-wrestling.

As MRG said above, he is the guy everyone knows for and associates with wrestling. It is basically a fact that you can walk up to any schmo, old or young, on the street and mention pro-wrestling and they'll give you something back like: "The Hulk" or just "Hulk" or "Hulk Hogan".

Everywhere I go when pro-wrestling is discussed or briefly mentioned his is the name that pops up to everyone. Basically he's not only become part of wrestling history, but also part of history in general. It's pop culture. One of my friends who recently started college went to pick up a modern history book from the school store the other day, and Hogan was on the cover of it.

He wasn't the reason WWE went downhill.

He left in 93, and was in WCW in 94, WCW didn't start to whoop WWE untile 96.

He should be remembered as WWE's #1, 2 or 3 biggest star of all time. Simple as that.
