I can't download shit from WinMX or Soulseek

What the fuckkkkk...WinMX barely works, the file just stays yellow while "utilizing" or whatever, then fails. Sameshit in Soulseek.

Randomly a song will work in WinMX but like 5% of the time

Anybody know whats going on? Music industry bitches had to close down Napster. Ever since all these progams have been shit

Check and see if you have some spyware that is screwing up your connection, or if there is a certain program that interferes with them.

If you XP service pack 2 you will have a firewall on by default. check your control pannel if you have.

Yeah I got the service pack update. Just saw that The Norton firewall wasn't on but I guess the one that came with service pack is. So should I just turn the firewall off while I'm downloading or what? I don't know, i've had XP service pack 2 since I got this computer, and it used to download fine so I don't know if a firewall is the problem.

If you are using the SP2 firewall, you should get a message asking you if it is ok to unblock the program that is trying to get through it (like it will say that its winmx or soulseek) and you have to unblock it.

Also your modem/router might have its own firewall, like mine does

I find that with WinMX, Newer music doesn't work, but anything from last year and before downloads no worries.

Also can you share files downloaded from iTunes?

Yeah that happened before and I unblocked them. I don't know what the deal is.

Damn, some random ass old song is downloading fine right now. Just can't download certain songs I guess? Tried to download "Times Up" by Jadakiss, like impossible

Yeah, there are a lot of songs now which either don't download or are you just no noise, I've had that problem with WinMX, the only problem with Soulseek I find is getting enough sources for stuff

If it is a problem with those programs themselves, try Limewire, I havent gone back to soulseek or kazaa since I first tried it, it's awesome. Mad good speeds, and loads of search results, and you can just download the pro version while you are using the shitty version, and make it even more awesome.
